Started another little project in honor of Elden, from a built up "Iced-'T'" I got off the 'Bay a while back... Have a look! Lobbed off the front spring supports and filed it smooth, robbed a "Beer Wagon" front axle and set it just in front of the nose., Flipped and moved the 'tanks' forward, they'll just be wheel foils now. Chopped off the roof and spun it around, ground to fit for a new rear deck. Motor will be, um, well I just don't know yet... Same for colors, name and other whatnot. This will be a simple, quick, low detail build while I think through some "Cord of Wood" issues I've stalled on... Thoughts? Comments?

[glow=red,2,300]Great Start![/glow] How about grinding off the front side fins to lighten up the front end?

Interesting project. Myself, I would keep the motor streamlined with the body, like installing a newer Corvette EFI motor.

IMHO: You are off to a good start but it looks like it is front heavy.
Like Ira said grind off the front top fins. You may want to remove the gas tank fenders and add smaller fenders and shorten the front axle. These alterations might balance out the front and rear ratio. Just my 2 cents worth.

Your off to a great start! It has that "wedge" look that Elden always did. I agree ...bring the front wheels in and maybe smaller front fenders. But it's your build and still KOOL !

Made some progress, filling in the gaps around the rear fenders and rear deck, added front radious/ladder bars, some new lskinny low profile front wheels and windshield posts... Can't decide if I like the front wheel foils or not... Rear view... I'm planning on using the Ice T side pipes still, but not the exits, they'll turn back under with the exits comming through the rear valance were the Ice T taillights were. I'm thinking one big red lens in the big opening... Power will likely be a big block Chevy with 4 side draft webbers or side draft fuel injection, nice and low! Color? Who knows!

Al, I like that too much to copy it, but thanks for reminding me of that build! How's it coming? Meanwhile, The pods are dropped, going for a 'lighter' look. Capped the rear valance, added a different Big Block Chevy, the valve covers will be sanded smooth and I kind of like the 'Ice T' scoop reversed and low (Reminds me of the early Monogram dragster kit!). I ditched the sidepipe center sections, they were just to far gone (Painted candy blue like the rear end, lots and lots of it.) so I made some simple clean pipes and opened up the exits... While I like the front wheels ok, but I'd rather have something skinnier and "different'. I can't find a decent rear match/compliment for what I have. Searching for a pair of so called 'Dollar store choppers', but have yet to find the right 'dollar store'... Photo time! Next up, Prime Time!!! Keep those cards and letters comin'!

I really like it a lot Mike ! "Stingy" it seems, is forever on the back burner, as I'm much more skilled at mocking up models, than actually building them to completion. My projects move so painfully slow, -and I've got about six projects going at once, ....but I'll get there someday. Thanks for asking by-the-way, you made my day !!

Sanded the last of the metallic gray paint off that the built up came with, added a dash and threw a coat of white primer on... Major yellow bleed-thru!!! That may effect color choices... Changed the wheels for now, kind of like them but I still dig the idea of a set of wild skinnies... Color/colors is still completely up in the air... The name game narrows a little bit though, I'm liking.. "Etcetera'd" (Or "EtceteRod") Or "DeJaVooDoo" Lots of things have been named "De Ja VooDoo", songs and whatnot, but I haven't found a car by that name... Could be wrong too. I'm not 100% sold on the transsition from the old body behind the door to the decklid, but I don't know just what else to do ether... Thoughts, comments, color ideas, names or other suggestions? Till next time!

Did a little more body work, one more round of fill and sand here and there and it should be ready for paint. That is, as soon as I nail down a color. More on that later... I taped the old 'Ice T' body parts I'd cut away and put them in this shot... Not quite in place... Here it is, all by it's lonesome, added some front end detail and a steering link... Power comes in the form of a low rise duel quad big block Chevy... Here's an assortment of other views... One thought I had on color/name would be paint it very red and call it, "Eyesmelt"... I'm kind of liking the idea of getting the name from some sort of twist on the 'Ice T' origins... Another name idea I had was 'Hot Toddy", kind of an opposite of "Ice Tea"... Still not sure and it's getting close to being ready for paint! Thoughts? Comments?

Great work so far. Looks good and I like the gold Moroso rocker covers. You could always leave it black and call it "Short Black"

It's lookin' good! I'd keep it a real dark color...maybe a dark flake.
As for the name,...Elden always used a "V" in his title. And it started out a "T". It looks fast...how about.........

Wow, I really like what you have done, that is quite a change. Do you mind if I steal a couple of your ideas, cause the difference is so dramatic And I thought bright red is what I would use to and I thought so as soon as I saw it............BRAVO!

Can I suggest a speedboat-style panel job? Maybe pearl white or silver flake with some candy panels on the large surfaces? OOOH! Or maybe black/dark brown, and do the top of the hood and the "trunk" in a fogged candy like a sunburst Stratocaster! Example:

...the [glow=red,2,300]"Veloci-Tee"[/glow] with special thanks to JerryG. I like it. It has a classic sound, keeps a part of the original name (The whole name really, just out of order 'Ice-T' 'V elo ci-Tee"), starts with a 'V' and the car has a very 'V' look to it (Plus the E.T. conection!) and it can be spelled funny but still said correctly. A great name. Now to the recent upgrades... I added a set of pedals and a new shifter. I searched and searched and couldn't find a shifter I liked enough, so I made one. I've scrapped the "Ice-T" crude rear control arms for a nice set of wishbones. Cut in a driveshaft tunnel, and added a transmission mount. Still needing a set of shocks... Shaved the valve covers flat (filled the breather hole with plastic stock, it'll be sanded smooth too, plan is to paint them to match the body which... I'm thinking about going with a deep purple maybe. Or red, bright bright red... I hate picking colors. And here it is all in prime... That's [glow=red,2,300]"Veloci-Tee", [/glow]ask for it by name! Thoughts? Comments? All are welcome at the circus!

Whatever you call it, it's cool. Great lines and proportion. I think the side pods would have worked if they were angled up to match the hood line... they didn't look bad in the mock up, but they weren't flowing with the rest of the lines. An angle might have helped if you were stuck on using them... ( a little late, I know)
Neat, though! I like how you shaved the Moroso valve cover script. I was thinking it was out of place...
