This was an idea that has been bouncing around in the back of my tiny mouse powered brain for a while, all revolving around the band name, "Alice in Chains". I like names that play on words a little, it adds to the fun factor. But, without a real direction or motivation, it just sort of kept bouncing around back there. Then came the "Scary Rides" themed contest for Fall/Halloween... Now I had a motivation, I just needed more of a direction. I grabbed an "Allison Thunderland" kit off ebay so I wouldn't have to open an original Parts Pack I had handy and now had something solid for the idea to bounce with direction... Then came frustration, so I put it down for a while and worked on a custom Monkey Mobile. I returned attention to the project and worked through the problem that stopped me before, from there it was non stop. Other than the Allison engine, there's very little "kit", it's mostly scratch built and parts box bash. Enough drivel for now, I'll add some information between pictures. I give you, the "Allison Chainsaw". One-thousand-seven-hundred and ten cubic inches, Fifteen hundred pounds of cast iron and steel, World War Two vintage V-12 powers the Allison Chainsaw drag bike. A two speed planetary transmission transfers power through a custom cut gear, ring and pinions differential, linked in turn to twin chain drives. This delivers Three thousand foot pounds of torque to the single twenty-one inch wide rear slick. Seventeen scale feet long, Fifty-five inches tall at the spoiler and Forty inches wide, exhaust tip to tip. Full detail including dry sump oiling system, fuel lines from tank to pump to the injector spider (modified Allison carborator), electrical system from spoiler mounted kill swith to the battery, to the electric charging bungs to the transversly front mounted starter. Hydrolic clutch lines and lever. Scratch built front forks (Alkalad), frame, body panels (Removable), coolant, fuel tank, oil tank and lines. A heavily modified parts box seat, scratch built pedals and linkage, a cut down "stinger" spoiler and parachute round things out in back. The rider could be named 'Frankenstien' since he was built from bits and pieces of several figures himself... Keeping with the Halloween theme a little, paint is rattle can pearl orange Duplicolor and shades of grey metallics for the frame. The Allison is Testors bright orange. Custom decals and photo etched Dzus fasioners all clear coated with Testors clear gloss lacquer. Thanks for looking!

Deadwood Lumber Co. #13 Wedge-chopped Monogram '30 Model A woody on Lil Coffin Chassis/interior. Radiator shell cut from a Hot Wheels diecast 1/24 monster truck. Scratchbuilt saw on the roof rack (had to chop it with SOMETHING) rather than the tradtional surfboard for a woody. I didn't have time to finish the decals, but it'll get them in the filled rear window sections. Thread in the completed section.
