As usual:
Comments for the Contest go here to keep the Entry Thread clean and organized.
PLEASE be kind to your fellow showrodders. Negativity is not condoned.
Everyone has worked very hard on their builds... This is a celebration, not a critique. If you choose to make "suggestions" on what YOU might have done, please do your best to present it in an encouraging manner.
This can be a touchy area for some when creativity is involved, so let's keep that in mind, and have some fun!

Dave - nice work on the rare ZZR! This is a tough one to find.
Also nice bashing on the Escape Pod. I like the "delicate" looking front end and then you come to the kick a$$ double blown engines!
Nice work!
Dave

Dave B. You won't be happy until you own every clear spoon on the planet. ;D Not that that's a bad thing. Another great bubble top my friend.
Dave A. That twin engine Escape Pod is very cool. Who'da thunk that old dragster body could look so good as a rod.
Michael That bug kicks a$$, I've been following it on the build forum.
Bill, You can't go wrong with a B.E., who cares how many contests it's been entered in. Real show cars compete in more than one show. A really clean build.

I love that Mach 5. and your other sons build is clean as a whistle!
I never thought much of the Mach 5, but dayumm, now I want one, scratch that, I just bought one on e-bay. (Brandon, tell your son I said thanks for the inspiration!)
It looks like we all had cubic inches in mind for this contest.

Alllright. The photo thread is closed, Entry Week has come to an end, and the Kobweb Klassic is over. Congrats to all who were able to participate. We had some really spectacular builds for this one, I was beyond impressed.
So, since we didn't have that many entrants, I would like to give some props to all individually:
Badroadahead: You just nailed it. The shape and proportions are on the money, the continuity of the era is spot-on, and everything could totally be replicated in full scale. The Dragin Wagon is also spot-on and nicely finished.
Dave Armstrong: The ZZR is what these contests are supposed to be about. I can't remember the last time I saw a ZZR built or unbuilt. You did an amazing job... and the Escape Pod... WOW! The Richard Carroll tires are balanced out by the fenders and superchargers, and the body just works.
Mysterion: I just want to drive the Bi-Polar... it distills the aggressiveness of the stingray into supercardom... and the Corvair is crazy. I love the front suspension and use of the dirt track body...
Mykturk: Impressive as always. I am really impressed with the inner door panel areas.
Scaledetail: Thanks fgor submitting the Boothill. You truly did it justice.
My kids: Awesome job, both of ya! LOL.
Don Culley: You might not like it, but I think it's awesome. it will stand as a testament to your tenacity... it could be languishing in a box unfinished, still pulling at a tiny peice of your mind. Congrats on your effort and victory.
Ira: That is wild! If you tried to explain to me what you were doing I'd probably shake my head, but seeing it all together and working like it does.... and in that scale.... You are truly a maestro.
Koffinbuilder64: Thank you for showing your unfinished project. I can safely say that nearly everybody here loves looking at an in-progress car of any scale... and I like where that one is headed. It's always cool to see the different variations of a car done... as many of them were constantly evolving.
Again, thanks to all who participated. Maybe we will have another contest in the future.... maybe we won't. Time will tell I guess....

I was wondering, when do we vote for the winners of this contest?

Great work guys, I would pretty much echo what Brandon has already said. Love the quality and imagination that went into these builds. I for one am fine with quality over quantity, but it would have been nice if there was more participation. I had hoped to participate but obligations to my model car club's contests kept me busy (see my off topic postings). I will be up for another contest next year though. Gonna cut back on other obligations and get focused on some showrods! ;D Oh and I actually do have a very special Christmas themed showrod currently in the works that I will be posting around the holidays so keep an eye out for it. Brandon will be especially pleased I think.
