I'll go first. I have no internet at home due to a huge snow storm and I have these pics on my Blackberry. I have another build finished but the pics are on my home PC. I plan on transferring them to a thumb drive and bring them to work. Hopefully I will be allowed to post them early tomorrow morning when I get to work. I call this: ~NUCLEAR FISSION~ I love the Atomic Punk and used Aaron’s style for this build. I started with a 1960 Corvette and chopped off from in front of the rear wheel wells to the front, leaving just the rear. I added tube stock and some styrene fins on the rear. Then I created the front of the body by using thick styrene and plastic rod for the inner structure and covered it with thin sheet styrene. I altered the vette frame to fit and used the interior from the Sillouette with more alteration. I scratch built the dashboard, and used a deviled egg bubble I got from the dollar store. I scratch built the taillights in a bullet shape to match the scratch built bullet shaped headlights and they both match the bullet wheels from the Ice Cream Truck. The finned front brake drums are from the Ice Cream Truck. The engine is a 409 from who knows what, the pipes are semi scratch built. I took a Cobra front grill body and cut it up and added the bullet headlights and fit in the Vette grill. I hope you like it. Dave

This is my boxstock entry, the ZZR. I thought I’d build something we don’t get to see very often; in fact, I don’t think there is even one in the Gallery. Extra pics so you can see as much as possible about the kit.
I tried to stay close to the reference pics and directions, but I was not trying to paint a perfect replica, but rather a fair representation. If it had been some other car I would have done different paint for the chassis, interior, etc. but most everything is SUPPOSED to be gold, gold, gold! The original paint suggested in the instructions was Aztec Gold. I tried out a few different gold colors and settled on Testor’s Champagne Gold over a white base. Fenders are listed as Frost Grape, I used Testor’s Grape Pearl. I did change the flower pot, white instead of “root beer”. I always thought that this was kind of a funky looking kit, but when it was built and sitting in front of me, it was really pretty cool.

This is my kitbash entry. I call it the Escape Pod!
Step right up, gents! With 4 blowers running, you can escape even the ex-wife! LOL!
Cab and chassis from the Double Dragster, 2 double blower setups from two ’62 Corvette drag kits, grill and lights from the T’Rantula, fenders from the Ice Cream Truck, cast resin Richard Carroll tires, with two sets of rear wheels from the Digger ‘Cuda kits. Paint is Testor’s Purple Pearl over a white base.

My second entry is: The Dragon Wagon This was my favorite model as a kid. I am very happy they re-released it. This is box stock and I decided to use different colors. The only thing I altered is the shifter. For some reason they added a silly “soup can” shift knob of which I ground off to complete the tigers tail. I also added a little BMF to the bucket and windshield. I hope you like it. Dave

Sorry I'm late. What a crazy last few days trying to finish up for the contest. First off, I bit off more than I can chew. While waiting for the first build's paint to dry, I started another and built that straight through then finished this one. I lost power for 2 days over the weekend with the storm, so there went 2 vital days to the builds. Somehow I did manage to finish at 6 pm on Halloween, but the batteries in the camera were dead, along with all the others in the house, due to needing flashlights. I got batteries on the way home from work, and find out, my build doesn't want to be photographed. It certainly couldn't be the moron taking the pictures with a broken LCD screen on the camera,,,,,,,,,,, could it? Well here are some teasers for now of my first build. It's called Bi-Polar. It's a hybrid of a Monogram 65 Vette and AMT's Provimi Veal, 1988 Lola T-8800.

6 builds so far, 3 Dave's, kinda strange. Welcome to Nader's Nightmare. My goal was to scratchbuild as much as possible on this. It wound up being the most detailed and fun build ever. The frame, engine coupler, wheelie bars and suspension, including shocks are from scratch, along with the fuel cell, oil pans, headers, air cleaners, master cylinder and more are from scratch. The body is a resin 61 Corvair dirt modified, modified of course. The engines are Revell Pats pack 283's. The rear bumpers, seats, steering wheel and dash are from a 65 Vette. Modified radiator and rear from a 57 Chevy P.U. Brakes, electric fan and headlight buckets are resin parts.

[shadow=red,left,300]FRANKENBUG [/shadow]"It's a little Monster" Why Frankenbug? Born over 20 years ago and left for dead. Reborn from stitches and several "doner" kits, what else would you call it? Yep, back around 1990 or so, I took a "Skip's Drive In" VW convertable, and hacked the fenders off to make a "Bug Rod" out of it. With several other bash projects on the bench, it never went any farther. Then I took a 15 year break from building at all. I refound this project shortly before going under the knife myself in April. Knowing I'd be loosing my left arm for several weeks, I wanted something different to busy myself with, and the Bug Rod seemed a good match. And now it's finished just in time for the Cobwb Classic! Short list of doner parts Igor dug up... Headlights - Speedwagon Wheels/Tires - Orange Hauler (Ultratruck) with new hubcaps from a Karman Ghia kit. Engine/trans/rear suspension and seats - Giant Killer Supertrap mufflers - Beatnik Bandit II Front axle/steering wheel - Cameo pickup Disk brake wheel backs and radius arms - Garbage Truck Roll bar - Revell Willy's Fuel Tank - Alison Thunderland Lots of other scratch built parts. Full wiring, fuel system/oil system/brake lines. See the full build, start to finish here: coffincorner.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=wip&action=display&thread=15127

Alright, as promised.. now that I am home... Here is my son Cavan's entry. He is 9 years old, and won this kit in the Deal's Wheels Contest, (a HUGE thank you to Ira!) and he was soooo stoked. Even more so to learn that it qualified for this contest.... So I let him build it as he wanted, without any help whatsoever.... It's box stock and the steering turns.

This one was rebuilt by my oldest son Brandon, he's 10. He loves speed racer, and won this as a door prize at the Atlanta NNL... He built it box stock, and did a good job, but was a little bummed that it wasn't "hot rodded".. cause that's how we roll.. So with Cavan entering this one, he wanted to play too, and asked me if he could have an engine to hop it up with... They have a few boxes of parts and half finished kits, and he found the blown Chevy big block. I gave him more parts to finish it out, like the big bug catcher and we found the slicks, mags, and wire front wheels that fit on the axle stubs... He trimmed the rear fender openings and we cut up a set of headers. I think it's rad...
