I'm getting ready to start painting my current WIP so my first entry will be finished soon . No pics as it's going to be a surprise ! I've also settled on two builds for the Modified Box Stock category . I bought the Roswell Rod six or seven months ago and I don't expect any special consideration from Fritz . I'll be using the body and trim pieces but plan a scratch built chassis with engine and suspension pieces from my parts box . The Surf Rod is one I tried to build as a kid and never got it right . . . I've always wanted to build another one and this is the perfect time to do it . It'll be detailed with some parts added from my stash and a flashy paint job ! I usually spend about two months or more on a build so completing both of these in the allowed time will be quite a task for me . Guess I better get my butt in gear !

got a little progress done...decided to go with a plain blue metallic paint job. the kit headers wouldn't fit after i added bigger wheels, plus i didn't really like them so i put duals on it and i added plug wires, velocity stacks go on last enjoy

I painted the Lil Coffin Pickup a heavy flake showcar green. Here is the mockup. I don't like the white inserts and I need to figure out what color to paint them. Dave

I don't know how you guys build, but I like to fabricate and assemble everything and then blow it back apart for paint and detailing so there are no surprises during final assembly. I found myself adding the very last parts to one of my entries... always a bittersweet moment, as I love the fabrication process, but I'm glad to see things finished. Now comes the body and paint work, and the paint detailing... it won't look anything like it does right now. I've added period correct air cleaners to the injection stacks to keep my sand buggy alive... The good news is that once I finish this one, I can add another one into the mix as I try and keep three on the burners to let things dry and to sleep on the next set of challenges. Have you guys made any progress?

Since Chuck (Starry Eyes) challenged me, to build just for fun a boxstock kit during the contest, I have long wondered what I should build... Unfortunately, I do not have a kit, from the Alfa list, that has not yet been shown in the Gallery... And one, that I would build straight from the box, would be, this: I have this one also never built before, so... The kit was sealed, so, first of all, a little control of the parts, and a first glimpse of what to expect ... Since all parts are in great shape, I just start to build... If you want, or should, to build a kit boxstock, do you have to also accurately follow the instructions?
