I have a question. . . is The Uncertain T kit being re-released? I see alot of them for sale on line and going for low prices. It is like the rest of the hard to find kits, the market was flooded with the originals just prior to the new re-release? Anyone know?

That's interesting and it sounds like he is making some progress but not very much . I have one of his T-Shirts and it IS very high quality and worth every penny . That said , what Steve is wanting to do is very expensive and that cost has to be recouped in the sale of the kits . He has sold original UT's for $6 -$7 hundred in the past so he's thinking there may be a market for an updated limited production run . My guess : $400.00 - $500.00 each . I'll pass .

I like the car, But I would not pay $200 for an unbuilt original. No reason to double, or triple that for a re-pop. Sorry guys, But before I'd go that far in 1:25, I'd scratch it in 1:8 We know it can be done... Hey Brother Chuck!

He's missing the boat by going this route and the project is going to sink. I think the top dollar anyone would pay is maybe $60 for anything that's not the original Monogram tool. That'd be the way to go, ink a deal to get the original re-popped (With minor revisions so it's not confused with the original) and just be happy with a reasonable royalty check. Everyone wins. The way he has in mind, no one will win, including Steve Scott.

I think everyone found out what a lunatic he is and they don't want them anymore.... I was going to keep quiet because I usually end up the bad guy, for not praising the gods of others... But I lost my taste for this car after butting heads with the 1:1 creator. Thanks Tim, I feel better when I'm open, and honest. Good, Bad, or Otherwise!

I don't like to say never.....but doing it his way.....never happen. I work in the kit industry with Model King. Through this I get to work with Moebius and Revell time to time. He has no idea what he's up against. I've worked with some of the most talented plastic kit designers in the biz....and still it HARD work.
On a side note....AMT is reissuing 'Lil Hot Dogger' 2nd Q 2015. I talked to Revell about showrod kits. They will continue to reissue them....but no more new tooling like they did on Rommel's, Taxi and Dragon. The Dog catcher project is dead.

I'd say in a cargo hold on the Edmund Fitzgerald And thats as good as ANY of the other responses I've heard over the past 19 years since I got back into the hobby.

Making an injection mold, or even 3d printing a couple hundred parts to make a model kit is an insane amount of work, even for those that know what their doing. The amount of people with an actual interest and the funds to pay a premium price for all that stuff he's talking about can not number anywhere near an amount that would make that feasible... it would almost be easier to make a kit car for 1:1 cars and market that.
I wouldn't pay over $60 for any re-pop, no matter how many autographed pictures and commemorative buttons and monogrammed pens were included. I've regretted those "collectible kits" that I've bought in the metal tins.. and the tins were cool.

Is anyone doing a resin kit? Maybe RMoM? I don't really like the car that much, but the hot rod Nailhead and diamond pleated buckets would be nice to have.

I have seen a complete resin kit crop up on Ebay here in the UK from time to time. If memory serves me correctly it's around the £70 mark but it's been a while since I've seen it.

Well those are reasonable prices, but I sure wouldn't want to pay in advance unless it was a 100 % guarentee . I would pick one up when they are released !

Maybe its because I'm half Scottish, but I wont be shucking out any cash for an advance order . Just because a guy "says" its going to happen , doesnt mean its going to happen . I'd rather spend a little extra once they are produced than to pay in advance for something thats still in the thought stage.

I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer, but I can read. Based on Steve's info.... www.uncertaintmodelkits.com/I'd say he's without funds. without a 3D printer. without a 3D cad program. without 3D cad experience. No prototype. No assurance of parts fitting each other. And all these kits will be hand made by him. Sorry to be an ol' stick in the mud, But I just don't see it happening. This is my two cents, and only two cents. But as a Coffin Corner Klown... I owed it. Bill
