I'm looking for a closeup of the little logo on the front fender (ahead of the door). It looks like a little devil's head. Or a head from the AMC Gremlin's gremlin logo.
And while I'm at it - does anybody have a good shot of George Barris' coat of arms?
TIA,

do you mean the emblem on the bottom of the front fenders ? those are the gto emblems . they don't show up as much on the stock gtos since they sit on the chrome rocker moulding, but they really stand out against the red paint.

It all relies on what photoes your looking at. The books I have ( Hollywood and TV cars <pg 108> shows the M/Mobile with a tan top shortly after completion. The logo your refering to is shown, but is too small to make out. ( the one behind the trumpeter exhaust )
This logo also shows up in the book, Barris Kustoms of the 60's. It is on several of George's cars.
The logo on the bottom of the stock GTO's was the streched shied 6.5 litres which was not on the M/M as far as I have seen.
Hope this helps.........Stan

Hey Peteski
Check - out these two places: The show rod room and the guest gallery - Look at the box art for the Monkey mobile in the show rod room and the Munster Kaoch on the guest gallery page - the Barris crest is a Detail master part. The Munster kaoch by Geoff Baylen can be found in the third row top under the cherry bomb - royal rail and Batmobile. If you don't find his logo I have George's Xmas card somewhere or I can run by his shop and get a copy of it...I pass it every day

Hi Peteski
Sorry - l wasn't clear on what you wanted.l thought you wanted the Barris crest to put on a model. As Geoff Baylen states detail master has or had this part.Never saw that other emblem before or noticed it.Good luck with your search. Keith

Hey Peteski, What I believe you are talking about is the Dean Jeffries crest between the fender opening and the door. I have a picture of it but it is to small to make out any detail of it. Do a search on the Mantaray. Also there is a good picture of the crest on the Mantaray in Street Rodder November 2000 pages 36-37.

As fate would have it, I've been watching the Monkees [Rhino] Season 1 DVDs this very day. The crest on the front fender, just above the pipes is the stock gTo emblem.

Hey Peteski, I don't know if this will help you, go to You Tube search Monkeemobile and watch Monkees race again. It has a pretty good shot of the front fender and a shot of the blower belt cover (fake that is) and it also had the Jeffries crest on it.

I checked out that video - not any clearer than the pictures I posted earlier. The only thing I see in front of the belt cover is the hood ornament.

Hey Jerry, thanks for this link. That website has lots of good photos and trivia. Lots of help. And there is even a message board. I'll post my question there. There might be some die-hard Monkeemobile experts on it to give me a hand..
