If that's yours, I wouldn't say your out of the ball park, but the economy being what it is today, most aren't willing to pay that much. Anymore, eBay is a buyers market, not a sellers market.

Especially so since they've started babying the lousy non payers and such. Thank you for the honest feedback. I have the link listed in sales, so anyone can make me an offer. I would rather it go to someone here.
Just checked it, 25 views and a watcher in the first two hours. I should be good to go. I doubt I'll get the 200 I'm asking but I'm betting I get close.

I watch and buy a lot of Tom Daniel stuff on eBay, and I would have to say too high. I see that you have dropped the asking price a bit, and I won't say that you won't find a taker, but from what I see, a lot of Daniel kits that are complete, unbuilt and in their boxes, which are listed in the $200+ range don't sell. Many of them have been hanging around for months, if not years, and I have seen the asking prices steadily drop over the months.
I would say that you'd be lucky to get $150 for all but a couple of the TD kits, and that would be for a complete, 100% original unbuilt kit. Even the rarest of them in built or "previously built" condition rarely seem to reach $90. I actually won a Dog Catcher auction about a year or two ago for, I think, $76, and it has an early style box and most of the good parts from TWO built Dog Catchers.
You've got a good package there for someone who wants to build a Dog Catcher, especially with the orange-clear canopy, but the fact that you have a Sand Shark chrome tree, a few other Sand Shark parts, and no original rear wheels (that I see, anyway) means that you are not likely to get the extra bucks that a mint or near mint 100% orange Dog Catcher would bring.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I hope this gives you some more info to work with. I haven't seen too many Dog Catchers in recent months, so you might leave the current price/offer auction up for a while and see what happens, but I would predict that you may need to come down quite a bit.

Thank you Brian. I do actually have the original rear wheels, I'm just unwilling to dig them out. I may have to rethink that. Less than 24 hours and I've had 83 views and eight watchers. Watchers aren't buyers though and are mostly just curious. I am banking on what Ed Sexton of Revell told me, and that is, the Dog Catcher will likely never be reissued. The Sand Shark conversion all but destroyed the molds and they don't want to retool. I don't want to give up my DC either but, these are the times we live in.

I had also heard a while back that there was some consideration to retooling it back to the the Dog Catcher, but it's unfortunate that that has apparently died out. I often put items on "watch" just to keep them on the radar, or so that I get a notification if they get relisted after not selling. Sometimes things hang around and I end up buying them, and sometimes someone else buys or wins it and I miss out. Hard to count on watchers, but at least it shows that there is definitely interest. Good luck to you! Brian

I do the same thing regarding "watching". I will say this, if a board member here wants it, I'll dig out those wheels and let it go for $150. Just sayin.

With Lil Gypsy and Hemi Howler crossing the $400 mark in the last weeks.....seems OK to me. I have the black version. At one time Revell was going to reissue....but after Lastovich passed.....it was canceled.

Here's what Tom had to say (Daniel)

Kevin!
Thank you for the very nice email… Put a big smile on my ‘ol mug
I totally agree with you about the Sand Shark… that was a indeed a huge mistake on my part. As for the possibility of all new tooling for the Dog Catcher - plastic or die cast - at the present time that prospect is fairly remote, but miracles do happen, so do nor give up hope. If it is any consolation you are definitely not alone as over the years legions of Dog Catcher fans have requested that rare kit be remanufactured and made available again.

I do have the original rear wheels, and if anyone from this site really wants it I'll go down to $125.
