This tip is for those of you casting an axle, or car hood, antenna, any small or thin part. Use the heat cured CLEAR resins. Why? Here's the thing- resin parts as we all know, are not as strong as styrene and can warp or get misshapen in the heat. Ever leave one in direct sunlight, or forget the A/C when you go on vacation? You came back to a warped part didn't you? Make these parts in clear. The clear resins have to be heat cured in an oven (I urge you DO NOT use a toaster oven!) at 150-200 degrees to become solidified. Now you have a hood that's stronger than the styrene hood ever was. Heat will not affect it unless you get it over 300 degrees! You can safely make any modifications to the resin copy and never worry about it becoming warped. I hope this makes everything... clear.
