All this Photobucket talk and anger has been interesting to read (not really) . But the one thing that has happened is all (most) of the threads look like absolute crap with the pbucket error image. So I've been cleaning up this morning and sending the dead threads to the corn field. I pay $$ every month for 800 mb of on site image storage.. and as of this morning, we are using 133 mb Considering that goes back 10 years or so, I think it's safe to say we can go it alone without Photobucket. There are limitations! a total of 5 images per post 2 mb per attachment members only can post
Certain members that post (like) 10 attachments per post will have to either upgrade their photobucket account or get another photo host. There's some stuff I just won't put up with.
But if it is models, you're pretty safe
oh, and the beer girls too

That's so cool Paul! I have hosting myself already, but this'll no doubt be a big help to those who don't! Just a thought on the 'cornfield' - if Photobucket reverses their decision, are those posts retrievable? Could they go back if the members get the pics back? It doesn't affect me personally, but just a thought. Sounds cool! Cheers from these girls!

Being fairly computer illiterate , my question is - How does one post a picture on this site now if you don't have a Photobucket or Fotki ,etc. account ?

Being fairly computer illiterate , my question is - How does one post a picture on this site now if you don't have a Photobucket or Fotki ,etc. account ? Click the [add attachment] button in the upper right corner then click [+add files] then just navigate to where your pictures are on your computer (up to 5) then , click [insert] and then [done]

You are making a big mistake using other free providers, they could do the same as Ransombucket (as I now call it) Safest way is to attach direct from your computer files.

If you click on the thumb nail pic loaded on this forum, they go to what ever size you had saved them with on your computer. Paul

When you use the in house picture posting program, the picture you select will be uploaded to the storage area. when you click the thumbnail, you will see the full size image you uploaded. Your pc does not have to be on line for the rest of us to see the picture, because it is copied from your pc to the image storage

I've just switched to 'imgur' for my photo hosting....free and a lot of space....I LOVE this Board! Oh, and Funnybug? I just rebought this golden oldie, first bought it in the early '70s! The AMT SUPERBUG! And all this time I thought it was a REVELL model because of the shortened body and the dune buggy tires you had to glue together....

If you get a chance I'd love to see some pics of what's in the box of that kit (maybe in another thread so we don't derail this one too much)

Just wanted to equip my in Progress thread "Dirt Bike Hauler" again with photos and have realized that everything I had posted was gone... I have now lost all the texts and had to invent everything from the beginning... Can this be reversed? Please?

I have now lost all the texts and had to invent everything from the beginning... Can this be reversed? Please? Sorry Bobby, You had so many threads with upwards of 10 images that weren't showing up, I simply deleted the posts because it didn't look like you were going to fix anything. {EDIT} There are 68 pages of Photobucket posts that I have moved. YOUR missing thread MAY still exist in there but I need an idea of when it was originally posted as they currently run from 2009 to 2017. So I'll look, but not at all 68 pages {/EDIT}
And that's fair warning to the rest of you guys.... If you have threads you plan on fixing, do it soon., It's been over a month now that photobucket started this inconvenience

But ANY free provider could do the same as Ransombucket ! Steer clear ! As mentioned previously simply click on the thumbnails to enlarge. Sometimes if you click again the image gets even bigger.

But, initially, I saw no solution to replace over 10`000 images, and then, each individual and with text... Now I wanted to try it with another host... It is this thread, sorry Paul, I do not know exactly, but I think in 2015/2016: coffincorner.proboards.com/thread/19494/dirt-bike-hauler-wip-jan

What I can recommend is that you restart the thread as new and I can attach the originall remainder thread to it. Best I can do - sorry!

I think Photobucket has finally figured out they took a big hit on memberships (not surprisingly) ; I never had any emails from them in the past, but in the last couple of weeks I've been sent all sorts of emails from them ,talking about the "benefits" and the things you can do now if you're a member of a certain status. They even sent me an offer with a discounted membership! No thanks PB ,you screwed with me once , and I'm not going back!

Bast...s for removing what was already posted and my Avatar. I am glad I did not use them for photo storage beyond this 3rd party thing so I could show and tell with Forums like this. Now I guess I will have to repost my previous posts that had photos. What is old is new again ? I store my photos in my computer, also copied to an external hard drive and when I fill up a digital camera chip I store that separately. I do not trust computers or the Internet.
