I am pretty stoked at the moment as I have been asked to build a kit for someone. I have never done that before it is not a show rod but it does not matter. I took photos of this pick up for a car magazine and the owner asked me to build the kit he had. Below is the pickup.

Always exciting to get a commission! What kit? I don't think a 1928 Model A closed-cab pickup kit exists. Will you have to build a new front suspension? It looks like the car has a Corvair suspension.

Ohh, that'll be a cool build! Cool 1:1 too!
What engine's in there?

Still current.

I'm a dope; I remembered the Revell Model A as being a 1930-31.

Yeah he had a really old kit of that one 41chevy. rocketeer the front end is of a Holden the Aussie Chevy. A HG Holden Google will show you one. Can you get those front ends as I was going to have a go at scratch building one. Engine is a Ford 302 Windsor kabdriver.

The front end is probably a generic GM design. I'm pretty weak on what kits there are with detailed GM front suspensions; perhaps something off a Corvette would be close enough.

Nice one John. You'll do a great job. Let me know how you go on the front end. Want to build a model of my rod. I'm running the L300 front in the roadster but haven't been able to find any thing suitable.

The front cross member and suspension is extremely close. Looks like it is bagged too. Paul

I posted a question about suitable kit front suspensions at the Spotlight Hobby message board. We'll see what develops; they're pretty knowledgeable over there.

How hard would they be to scratch build?

Sweet thanks for that it will be interesting what they say. One response so far, suggesting a 1951 Chevy or 1954-55 Corvette. A quick Google will get you instruction sheets for AMT kits of each, and you can take a look at the front suspensions to see if they look like what you need.

How hard would they be to scratch build? There's a model of the Delicia which is a 4WD version of the L300. So the front end is no where near a match. Looks like scratch building it is.
