Came here to post this - this car is EVERYWHERE the last couple of days! One of the online hot rod mags was hinting that they knew where the original is too, but I call BS on that one.
Nice build, even if the wheel is on the wrong side! Interesting that they made the body out of wood - looks good, for wood! 😂. I would’ve made it steel or aluminum personally if it was my build, but it looks good, and it’s cool to see a showrod getting so much press online. Way cool!

Very cool indeed. Fiberglass over a wood frame.
Probably more solid than the original

Bet ole Steve is having fits He said he liked it - but didn’t he sue someone for making a clone once? 😂

He tried to sued the people who made the resin kit but learned you can't claim what you no long own.
He can't. The rights to the design and Steve's copy right are owned by a hobby shop in Nevada, because he couldn't raise the modest fee to renew.

I seem to recall from the old Coffin Corner that one of the members at the time brought the copy rights. Didn't pay a lot and was only interested in keeping it save from profiteers. Cant recall who it was.

Nice build, even if the wheel is on the wrong side! Actually the steering wheel is on the right side Seeing it is in New Zealand and if they want to drive it on the road it has to be on that side. What a cool build.

Superb! Even better as a 1:1 real car! I built one of the resin model kits I bought from Australia.

Plot twist: what if it’s the REAL one and they just switched it to other-hand-drive?
DUN DUN DUNNNNN

Like anything he said/says take it from the source.
