Geez, this thing is just too much! I can't stop lookin' at it! I really think it is just OUTSTANDING!! A WORK OF ART.
On the flocking, I work on a piece of smooth school paper, and I fold a line down the middle before I start. I flock the part on it, then fold it in half and tap the paper until all the flocking falls to the middle. Then you can carefully pour whats left back into the tube for next time. Simple, but it works! ;D

Ed Newton should be very proud. You've more than done the old concept justice.

Many thanks for your kind words! ;D The upper part of the posts was very poorly cast. I carved it a little. But, the lower part was too thick for me now... He needed too much space. So there was only to turn this off and made a new design on the lower part. Moreover, I sand everything clean. Then i drilled holes for the posts, carefully into the bed. This will be the roughly look. These are the chains for between the posts. They are made of steel and are very tough. Bad to handle, to open the individual links, etc... Maybe I take, nor a thinner version... Small steps, I know. But, i hope they bring me soon to the finish... ;D Let's see...

I know, that some of you think, I have forgotten this eternal work. But I've worked on that and my head was broken on some small items. Here are a few examples: The barrel cab, got the metal rings. I really cut long strips from a very thin stainless metal foil (0.02 mm thick). I stuck it to the cabin. In the middle it looked good. But at the ends, because of the oblique / dome / cone, it undulates with time. So I ripped them off! The Lighting: On the Front, comes to mission, central, just one lamp. First, I thought of this one from the Sand Shark kit: It would be of the form ago, exactly right. But it is too small... On Newt `s design, I do not really see what is on the side of the barrel cab. Are there oil lamps or are they converted bottles, maybe wine bottles as lamps? I still can not decide between these oil lamps: Or this alternative, which I had prepared: For the rear lights, I see something in this direction: It should look like a grape. Or close to it. As already mentioned, the exhaust system is a headache. I have bent and twisted countless wires. Without success. I wanted something, that looks like corkscrews. But eight corkscrews? And finally, all attempts just looked to bloated and stupid. Still no solution. The posts I'm not liked in the metal color. Therefore, I have them redesigned in wood execution. Some reasons, why this building gets in the length...

This thing is Smokin' still. Every update is a tastey treat! Some thoughts for you. On your barrel bands, tried or thought about copper strips? The stainless is too ridged, that's why you get the undulations, it just won't give. The copper will take the form better, much softer more malable metal, and you could still polish it out for a nice "antique" finish. Exhaust, corkscrews are a great idea, but, rather than eight corkscrews, how about just two? Bend up a shorty set of headers that turn into a single corkscrew per side. Bunch of grapes taillights is also inspired! I understand getting stuck looking for the 'just right' combo. Notice a complete lack of Cord of wood updates?

Thank you for the kind words! Somehow is the progress of this build in the final phase very laborious. I am not satisfied with some parts, and that throws me back again and again... Here is the definitive establishment of the posts with chains. Hope you enjoy.
