I posted some pix and info a few years ago on the old site. I'll have a scrounge around and see what I can find. I can tell you this much off the top of my head: It was part of a 4 vehicle "Hot Rod funeral procession" Ray Farhner built. The four were; The Boot Hill Express,Boot Hill Flower Truck; The Wake Wagon and there was a trike called the Boot Hill Escort. The Flower Truck had a body style similar to Carl Caspers Paddy Wagon. It was powered by a SBC with 57 style,Chevy factory injection. Front wheels were 12 spoke altered type and the rears were ETlll's with slicks. I believe it was painted candy lime with some lace panels and gold leaf lettering. That's all I can remember at the moment. Don't know what happened to the Flower Truck or the trike, but the Wake Wagon underwent a few alterations, including stretching the body and chassis, and is still doing the rounds under a different name. It was for sale on Ebay about 5 years ago. Hope this helps.
Cheers,PJ

I remember someone had scanned an article about the 4 vehicles. Boothill Express, The Flower Truck, a Trike and a Coach rod 'Wake Wagon' (now called Cinderellas Coach which was for sale from Volo Museum a while back). Added a nose 'cone' and painted white. Picture found on the web: rides.webshots.com/photo/2834817880000388294JoNosyThey called the collection The Funeral Rods. Col.

Found the scans. ;D They're from an issue of "1001 Custom & Rod Ideas" from around '68. Sorry about the size of the pix. I tried to reduce them, but Photobucket wasn't playing nice today

Figured I would chime in with my 2 cents on this. I live in the KC. area and my father used to be drinking buddys with Ray. I was lucky enough to get to hang around a little bit at Ray's shop when I was about 6 or 7 years old. Watched him build the Express#1. And actully got to go for a ride or two on it! Remember there are two Boothill expresses. #1 was the one that Barris got ahold of and did all the pinstriping on and it was at Volo for a few years and is now in Nevada. #2 was built as a wheelstander! and is in the Peterson collection I beleave. Easyest way to tell them apart is#1 has a fully chromed frame and #2 only the front crossmember is chromed. Anyway I remember the Wake Wagon the last time I saw it before it was streached was around 1987 sitting in Ray's shop with coins glued all over it with a Thick coat of clear on it and he was calling it The Million Dollar coach ! I kind of remember the Flower and the Escort but have no idea what happend to them. But I think I will start asking around. After the W.W. got streached Ray called it the Hot Rod Limo. All the promo. B/W shots were taken at the old Raytown High School wich was around the corner from his shop. I remember ALOT of cool old show cars from the 60's being at his shop they always started showing up about a week before his show he promoted here. I was a lucky kid!!
