Looks like the reissues will be the Compact Pussycat and Dastardly's car (forgot its name). How many were in the series?

I've got no idea, but I love the very graceful line of the roof. Looks like it'd be a pretty simple job to scratchbuild the body.

Just a different decal, as far as I know.

... On topic, I've never seen this kit before, was it part of a series? Brian Sort of; there was a companion kit called the Super Sea Monster, which looked like an overgrown ladybug: The Super Sea Monster seems to be really rare.

My progress on this is going to be slow, since my hobby room is completely disarranged for some sewer work.

So far, I've got the body halves glued together and puttied (it was originally held together with five tiny screws!) and the body has had its first coat of primer. I'm sure it'll need many more before I'm done. I've figured out how to mount the Baja Humbug wheels, and still have to fabricate a spoiler (the original has a Superbird type spoiler, which is missing on mine) a missing pectoral fin, and a new dorsal fin..
For paint, I'm thinking Mako Shark blue-over-silver. But we'll see.

Always liked that Monogram kit. At one time, I had seven Bad News / Quicksilver kits sitting on my shelf; there was just something irresistable about the box art, and every time I saw one in a store, I felt compelled to buy it.

I had some orange metallic Tamiya spray paint left over from my Ice Cruiser Norlandia project, and, looking over my stash, a Revell Baja Humbug looked like a good quick project. Aaaand here it is, a straight out-of-the-box Humbug. The only change is that I thought the auxiliary lights looked a bit flat, so I glued some google eyes onto their backs to make them more three-dimensional. I tried to paint the tire lettering three times, and couldn't get it to look good, so finally I gave up. Anyway, pics: Album of Baja Humbug pics: www.flickr.com/photos/150559382@N07/albums/72157715011508242The pictures were taken in my display case, and the orange thing that obtrudes into some of the pictures from below is Norlandia. Here's an album of Norlandia pics, if you're interested: www.flickr.com/photos/150559382@N07/albums/72157712595708502

Cute little devil!
When I painted the muffler on my Baja Humbug, I added a couple washes of rust colors.

Of course I screwed up the decals on the Deal's Wheels Baja Humbug I'm building. Does anyone have a set that I can have for some reasonable price?

I would thin the paint with an ordinary clear (that is, if you have Tamiya clear blue, mix it with Tamiya gloss clear) to reduce its intensity, then use a brush to apply a light coat down in crevices and anywhere shadows would fall (set your cubes under a gooseneck lamp and note where the shadows are). Try to feather out the edges of the blue areas to get a gradual transition.

I like this; it's a nice variation on an old favorite. I especially like the stake bed!
