I remember extending the forks by shoving them together end to end, some were hollow on top. I had a Murray Firecat for years until my last move.

That's one of the reasons I was looking for this kit - I have most of the kits that the redline Hot Wheels cars were patterned after ,but I never thought I would be able to get one of these I didn't know there was an actual kit, now I want one too ! Heres my heap.

Is it me or is the roof line not right now, had more rake to it in the Farber/Monogram era ? I always loved this car, one of my favorite Hot Wheels as a kid.

Funny, when I had this as a kid I had no idea it was a factory bash. I guess I need to keep my eye's peeled for those two kits, maybe eventually one will show up under radar.

The childhood build thread got me remembering this kit and it seems to be somewhat hard to find ? Are any of the parts obviously from other kits besides the Mysterion ?

Same as a few others I'm sure, Red Baron, Paddy Wagon, Cherry Bomb, etc. I also remember the Snoopy and Red Baron airplane kits with the powered props that spun when you turned them. I was a Hot Wheels kid and really liked the custom cars. The last kit I remember buying back then was the Dual Jewel.

A lot of the panels were glued crooked with large gaps, glue on windows, even the seats were glued in lop sided. It was a mess.

This one went to another, I didn't want to mess with it being 1/32.

Glue ?

Thanks everyone, that's an excellent read hobbybobby ! I'll look to that post many times.
The last time I was building I used CA's and was very happy with them, instant and strong, might have been ZAP brand. I thought I remembered having a CA that was specifically for clear parts, I know I didn't treat them any differently, only the glue that was used. I do scrape my pieces clean of paint and chrome.

I haven't bought glue in 15 years, what do you consider the best ? Is there one that holds well and also doesn't cloud clear plastics or do I still need two ?

My problem is to many projects at one time. I'll start with one thing, like now there's an rc buggy in pieces spread out on the dining table and soon another starts, add a lexan body soaking in dot3 on the counter. Then pull out boxes full of model kits and spread them out across the living room floor to "organize" and in comes an rc truck on the coffee table, top it off with this one in and out of the freezer and containers with dot3 and easy off..........
Eventually it will get back down to one and I'll start the whole thing over again.

I lost the radiator hose and that one rear light ! One minute they were there and the next they were gone from this planet ? I was a little upset ! Is this an age thing, stuff just disappearing ?

I'm debating scanning them and printing, but I don't have an Alps printer anymore for whites and I've never printed waterslide. Should have hung on to that.

Those are the actual decals from the original kit, came with the truck. I guess they gave you two sets, one set for Far Out and one set for Way Out.

I have these decals, might be worthless. If they stick I can maybe do that way out version.
