Well I just got home a little while ago from the York toyshow with AJ and I picked up some stuff to hold me over for a while. The 1:24 scale will be a rebuild and the smaller one will be used as parts on a volksrod truck that I am working on. Another Chuck Wagon and I couldnt pass up a sealed Beatnik Bandit VW cover CarToons for my growing VW collection Parts cars for various hot rod builds Big Chevy and 2 original accessory packs 2 built ups This will be cut and hacked into something custom unless someone wants an original After taking the pic, I found Mr. Rommel's head wedged in the front fender haha

Been a little while since I've been able to contribute so I guess I'll throw my toy show finds in here.
First off, these were the only kits I bought this time but I was happy all the same. Try to find one of those 27 Switcher kits, they are getting tougher to find! The Hot Rod series Beatnik is sealed and I can't turn down decent priced Fink kits!

This is a batch of slot cars and diecast that I got. The Peace Tank AFX was one of my favorites as a kid and I still have my original. However when I sold my slot car collection my cubed one went with it so I'm happy to replace it again as well as pick up the VW Thing since I'm into VW's these days...ha ha! The original Johnny Lightnings are something I've messed with on and off over the past 10 to 12 years. I get some, I sell them, I get some more later, I sell them. I've always really liked these wild custom sort of cars and never had them this nice so I'll be keeping them.

No photos yet but I scored an unbuilt Fire Bomb. That darn thing is hard to come by and expensive. Now I just need a Baja Beast. These are on my "I built them as a kid" wish list.

Great find Barten!!!! When I look on Craigs list the only slot cars I find are common newer stuff people think is worth a fortune.
I love hearing stories like that.

Yikes Dan, thats a steal !! That AFX Monza set would have been one I was drooling over back in the day. I never could afford one, but I had a lot of fun with the smaller tracks. A buddy of mine built a 4 lane track recently. My old cars don't go as fast as I remember, but those nascar cars like you have fly !

He's a guy I've known since junior high ,and still lives about a mile from me.He doesn't built models anymore but is heavy into slot cars. His track is all done up with trees ,buildings, etc. Keep me posted, He may be interested in trading/buying some stuff. I still have my old slot cars too, so once in a while my 6 year old and I race at his track . I have the ford coupe and the woody but I like the green panel one you picked up !

Finally, patients pays off!!! Picked up the Boss A Bone from my good friend Chuck here, and after losing more auctions than I can remember, I finally have a mint, virgin Blue Beetle kit!!! If you don't know the history on these two kits, The Blue Beetle was done in 1964, and came with a Cadillac engine with six carbs, bucket seats, a roll bar, custom firewall, surf board, and scuba gear. It also had a set of custom 5 spoke Americans on the rear, wrapped with wide white pie crust slicks, and chrome reverse front rims ( a '60's wheel style) In 1970, Monogram did a slight retool of the '29 RPU, and made the Tom Daniel designed Boss A Bone custom pickup. This kit has the same engine, now called an Olds, but this time with a tunnel ram intake & finned Valve covers along with a set of new custom headers, and side pipes. It kept the custom firewall, bucket seats, roll bar, and scuba gear. New wheels were added, and are a cool set of American 5 spokes F&R, and the same tires as the Red Baron, TJ Taxi, etc. This RPU has been reissued several times since, but never with the all the cool parts shared with these two. Now I have some cool new toys for 2010!!!

[Photobucket cleanup] We found two molds with bodies to Barris dune buggies here in town. Sold them on eBay a while back. And I had Mr. Barris sign one of the flyers you sent me. He thought they were pretty cool after I told them how I had gotten them ;D
