I got permission from Jimmi Widell on Bob Blacks TRaK forum to share his build of Dave Stucky's Original '32 sedan show rod, which eventually became the 'Lil Coffin. Not 100% correct, but very close!!! He used a new Revell '32 sedan kit as the starting point.

It's very familiar, yet totally unique. You can sure see where the lines of the Li'l Coffin came from after you see this. Gerry G

A very nice build! The L'il Coffin is one of those few, rare cars that had several 'in-car-nations' over the years! I'm sure someone here has pictures, or knows where such photos are, of the many faces of the L'il Coffin.

John, I keep a copy of the Car Craft cover hanging on my wall here at work. That is a very nicely done tribute to the car. I've been thinking about it for some time that I'd like to do this myself but just haven't gotten around to it yet. For mine I really need to get the channel correct because that's what appeals to me most. But seeing his really kind of opens my eyes to what needs done to accomplish it. Originally I had thought the original build of the 1:1 just had the splash panels removed and the body set down on the running boards. Now I can see that the rear fender was stretched downward to nearly the ground before the channel was done to the body. Looking up at the cover, the cowl is almost on the same plane as the fender tops. It's hard to believe how much they channelled the body after comparing the tribute build to the cover. Very wild! Thanks for sharing the build with the Corner!

;DVery cool I have collected every 60's mag that show's the little coffin hoping one day to recreate the 60 cover car. I think the coffin with all four buckets would be cool along with the chrome reverse wheels like it was shown for the early part of 62

Now here is a great article that anyone liking the Dave Stuckey built car should take the time and read! For anyone who thinks that Darryl Starbird built the car, read it. There are also some really great black & white shots from the early days of building the Coffin. davestuckeyslilcoffin.com/

WoW! just found this thread and i must thank you all for all the nice comments that you have writen about this build i am the builder of this model and i must say that it was a really fun build to do! and as said, this is not a 100% recreation of Stuckeys Li´l Coffin but it is heavilly inspired of it..thats why i named it Li´l Casket instead thank you everybody once again! /Jimmi Widell
