That is cool ! I was thinking the same thing as snake, it looks like the truck from " Santa Claus is comin' to town ". You could saw the back off easily and make it into a pickup body , although I think the truck on the show had a Model T radiator

An update: I'm currently waiting for paint to dry; I got a bit of dust in the paint (as usual ) so after it's thoroughly dry I'll have to get out the polishing supplies and see what I can do about getting rid of the dust. I dread that; I always seem to rub through somewhere, and a body like the Taxi's, with lots of raised detail, gives me plenty of opportunities to rub through. But what the heck, it's got to be done, so.... I am very happy with the color scheme, though. ...maybe some ski's or snowboard strapped to roof??? Oh, yes, absolutely, some skis in a rack (on the back?--hmmmm)--but I'll have to make the skis from scratch, so I'm procrastinating a bit on that...

Another little update: I had a lot of fun making decals using the Testors decal kit; worked very well. The finished decals are a bit thick, but otherwise very satisfactory. They're on the model now, and yesterday it got its last coat of clear, so once that dries thoroughly, it's assembly time!
Ran into a snag with the skis, though; the paint I put on the bottoms doesn't want to dry. If you saw my little thread on making them, you'll remember that the skis are molded upside-down in a one-piece mold, and the bottoms are the surface of the resin. I suspect that some exudation of the resin is making the paint not dry. So I'll strip them, sand and wash thoroughly, then try again. Unfortunately, I'm out of Scale-Coat paint remover, which is the only thing I know that'll touch Tamiya spray paints. So there's a bit of a delay there. (I would try wiping the skis with lacquer thinner, but I'm afraid it'll attack the resin. Still, I may try an experiment. Yesssssss... an exPERiment......!!!!)

MAN!! I WISHED I THOUGHT OF THIS ONE,,I'M REALLY LIKING IT!!!
As far as resin and lacquer goes,my experience has been good,,no problems,,i use Aluminite resin,,for example,,i had a hood i painted in DuPont lacquer,,it screwed up,,i just threw it right into the lacquer thinners,,pulled it out with no problems,,however,,don't put it into castrol super clean , it will destroy it!!

The Beer Wagon front on that is genius... very well done! The radiator would keep the cabin warm, too.!

Ohhh, this is a killer build Rocketeer! Great idea to use the nose from a Beer Wagon on this, and those tracks are gorgeous! Really nicely put together, nice paint, cleanly build - I'd park it on my shelf! Very cool man!

By the way, if those white bits on the back of the frame there are scratchbuilt, theyre REALLY nice! Nice job!

They're scratchbuilt; everything white is built from styrene. The mounts for the tracks had to be heck-for-stout, because the tracks have some tension on them. Thanks for the kind words!
