My wife is a big Vikings fan too...it wasn't a good night at our house .I kept telling her they did better than my Dolphins, but that didn't help !

Very cool... Just hang the front springs from the stock VW chassis on long shackles to get them as high as you want... I'm glad you are doing this, I had already pulled my unbuilt '57 and built van out and was eyeballing everything. Now I don't have to build it to see what it would look like.

I took heed to Brandon's suggestion and removed the 57 front inner wheel wells and suspension. I then drilled two holes in the bottom of the front chassis floor of the VAN to correspond with the pins on the leaf springs. I then made some small shackles out of sheet plastic for the rear of the front shackles. Glued everything up and it is now nice and sturdy and very clean looking..........Thank you Brandon!!!! ;D ;D I found some different rear wheels in the parts box and they appear to be from a formula one kit?? They are hard plastic with a large/wide rubber band in the center of the tread?....they have Schuco embossed on the sidewalls. I scraped off the lettering and will sand the sides and add dry-transfer white lettering later. I threw on some testor's one coat Ice Blue metallic on the VAN body. I am really liking this version better than where I was going originally. ;D

Can"t wait to see this one finished. I haven't even cracked mine open yet. But Fred, that engine is from the HotWheels 1/18 Drag Bus.

OK....in between the Bad Medicine rebuild and working on this......and the good thing is I can paint these while at work!!! Well, as the Art Director I paint things all day!!!! ;D ;D ;D So I paint them and set them aside to dry and at the end of the day I take them home and then I can build!!! Anyways----- I got the chassis painted, dry-brushed the front springs silver, detailed painted the 1/18 hot wheels drag bus engine, got the rear wheels painted flat black, still have to paint the rims..and started to throw some decals on the body.

Fred, you crazy man! This is turning out to be one of my favorites of your builds! (And I've always loved your builds, in general!) is that a KISS version of the VW Van, on a shelf?!
