I 'm going through some old boxes of magazines. Most are about 10 years old. I scanned a few pictures.. Trosley does V W too... Plus a few page's, pic's of how to chop a bug roof... Red Baron... Hey I've never seen this before..Look at the last pic.. Is that a stock turmsignal popping out the post..? Is that a stock VAN? Panel..? Top right pic...? Did V W make military stuff..? BiLL..

Sure VW made military stuff ! In WW2 every company in Germany was building for the war effort .

wow...that one car is called "tar babe". that name surly wouldn't fly today. That car is still being shown today Rob. I know it was in one of the recent VW magazines but I don't know if it was all original or freshly restored.

And yes, to answer your question, the old split-window bugs had semaphores that would flip out of the B-pillar and light up to signal for turns.
