Well now that the Kobweb Klassic builds are done, it's time to get back to this one. I hope I can find all of the parts for it. I also hope I can remember my plan of attack on finishing this. I got the interior in and the make or break of this build, gluing the top and bottom halves of the body. So far so good I'm using Weld-On #16 for gap filling.

Finally, we get to see it as one piece, well almost one piece. I was having problems fitting the bottom of the nose and decided it would be easier to break it off, fix my fitment problem and then glue it back in. I also screwed up the measurement on the hinge for the front half of the bubble. I'm not sure How I'm going to deal with that. Well, here she is as of this morning.

[glow=red,2,300]Great Looking Design!!![/glow]
Have you considered smaller front wheels, maybe even narrow wire wheels...

I'm not sure if I have the ground clearance for a smaller diameter tire.
I do agree at certain angles the front tires look pretty tall.

I'll have to check the size of the 23" Pegasus T's, it looks to be the same wheel.

The front shocks and springs are done. The first round of filler. The nose is in place. Probably just one more round with the filler, a few coats of primer, some wet sanding and it's time to mask and paint the bottom. How she looks right now.

It's hard to see, but I plumbed the fuel lines and made a throttle linkage for my fantasy fuel injection unit.

I'm getting ready for the bottom color. I've got the design masked off and just need to finish fixing a couple of things and then it's on to a black bottom.

[glow=red,2,300]WOW!!![/glow]
I am very impressed the way you finished the top half of the car, and then puttied and fit and sanded and primed and then painted the bottom...while it was attached to the finished top.
Well Done!

It's the same approach I'm taking to a Futurista build that's on the bench. Hope I can pull it off as well ~ or half as well ~ as you did.

I got the base coat of black on, I think I'm going to use some blue pearl over it and then clear it.

The blue is on, I just went with a solid fill. Now to let it dry, scuff the edges to knock down the ridge and clear it. With the flash, you can see the blue, but the silver looks horrible, without the flash, the silver looks good, but you can't see the blue.

, maybe even narrow wire wheels... I tried the front wheels from the Roth Outlaw, they looked pretty bad. The wires didn't fit with the overall design of the car and they were way to small. I do have a Jada sedan with the right size front wheels, a bit smaller in diameter and already narrow. I just hate to ruin a good diecast just for some wheels.

I sanded and buffed her out today, not a perfect paintjob, but it looks pretty good. The silver, black base and blue pearl are all nail polish, the clear is Nason urethane and the pinstripe is 1-Shot. After buffing, After the pinstripe, Not much left to do, front brake lines, throttle linkage, front axle, exhaust pipes and glass.

The pinstripe is a perfect addition to the paint!

I pulled her out of the case tonight, it's time to give this thing a name and finish it. I'm going with "Twilight Zone". I only have a very few pieces to attach and adjust the windshield hinge. I broke the hinge, again! I also lost my throttle linkage, so that's no steps forward, two steps back. I did finally cave in and rob a die cast of it's front wheels and tires. There a little smaller than the old ones, it looks much better. A couple of pics with the new front wheels/tires.

And a few steps forward. Exhaust is on, rear disks are on, Front suspension is almost done and the hinge is fixed. I finally realized the hinge needed a bit of slop to it, I used a thin pin to make the hinge.

It looks great. Great job on the pinstriping and the wheels look like they were made for the kit.
