I'm almost ready to glue the glass on my Silhouette and need some advice. The back glass from the kit has a lip that is made to sit on the body. It looked really ugly to me, so I cut it off and it's a very slight amount of surface for gluing.
As it is now, I might be forced to paint the edges of the glass black like is found on cars nowadays, so if I get a slight clouding of the edges, I'm not to concerned.
I see Testors has a glue for clear parts, does it work well? How strong is Future floor wax? Will crazy glue fog the window badly?
I'm open for suggestions.
Thanks, Dave

I use Future floor wax .. as far as it's strength it seems to be fairly strong but not like modeling cements......as long as it makes it to the model case, that's my main objective however I've never had a windshield or lense fall out... The good news too is that it's water soluble as well..

I use "Aleene's Original Tacky Glue"!
It is sold at craft stores, it is like a thick, sticky "Elmer's White Glue" that dries clear.
The good news is if you mess up, it dries clear, and it doesn't attack the plastic. I use it to attach most parts to painted bodies, it works Great!!!

Ira's right on it, white glues are the ones, they don't attack or fog the plastic, and they dry clear, use for windows, lenses, all kinds of clear stuff. I have also been using a PVA adhesive by Lineco, stuff graphic artists use, performs like the white glue but maybe a bit more adhesion and a bit more flexible on drying.
Stay away from super glue it will fog clear parts and just about anything else in the vicinity of the glue application. Epoxies have a bad habit of turning a yellowish.

Your salvation is at hand, this is the stuff you need: Bob Smith Industries Super Gold. It is a superglue that won't fog clear, I've been using it over a year now and I hate normal superglue. I've used it with great results, works best with their activator to set it quick. Activator doesn't hurt anything either. Have seen results with this stuff applied in contact with clear, chrome and finished paint which normal CA/supergue formulas will ruin. Going to Toledo? You can get great prices on this from Auto Models USA who will be selling it there, check them out for great kit prices too. Detail on this Super Gold at bsi-inc.com/Pages/hobby/oca.html
