Lower one is Carl Casper's "Manure Spreader" as the fine print describes. Was most recently at the Historic Auto Attractions museum in Roscoe Il, but has been sold, don't know the current whereabouts.
Magic Carpet was credited to Gary Hartfield of Seattle, early 70's, late 60's.
I can do some more research through the archives of old Hot Rod World and other show mags, not too much coverage on either of these two and little to go on for other angles or color shots either.
Do you want this kind of thing in general board or listed here till things get moved?

Uhhhmmmm... Good question... let's keep this kind of identifying discussion here for now and see how it works.... I have a ton of Casper photos and will start a thread for that and move the Spreader... I know he owns and collects show rods (He owned Winfield's Strip Star for a long time) and this spreader was created by the "Taggert Brothers.." I'm not sure if they made more cars, worked for him, or what... any info on them?

There is a colour shot of the magic carpet in Show Car Dreams if I can figure out how to post it.

I think the pink plush one is also a Reisner-design called "Sex Machine" said to have a 1900hp ... hard to believe ... probably blown away

I like to dream yes, yes, right between my sound machine On a cloud of sound I drift in the night Any place it goes is right Goes far, flies near, to the stars away from here
Well, you don't know what we can find Why don't you come with me little girl On a magic carpet ride You don't know what we can see Why don't you tell your dreams to me Fantasy will set you free Close your eyes girl Look inside girl Let the sound take you away
Last night I held Aladdin's lamp And so I wished that I could stay Before the thing could answer me Well, someone came and took the lamp away I looked around, a lousy candle's all I found
Well, you don't know what we can find Why don't you come with me little girl On a magic carpet ride Well, you don't know what we can see Why don't you tell your dreams to me Fantasy will set you free Close your eyes girl Look inside girl Let the sound take you away

Here is my collection of rod & custom cars cards. OK, I'm lazy I admit it. I didn't want to take the time to scan each card indiviually so I just scanned each page. Here are the first 4: Marty Marysville, OH

This was called the Star Trek Coupe or Star Trek Cruiser Coupe, was on the circuit in a couple of different colors, this is the evolution of the bubble topped, 3 wheeled Futurista. Got this from Darryl himself. Original lines are barely noticeable with all the changes, look at the shape of the rear fins and the door lines.

I hope this the correct sedtion for this. While digging for some pictures I found some that I took at the Detroit Autorama in 1972. Please don't expect to see professional grade pictures. They were probably taken with a 110 Instamatic (do you remember them?) Here is a link to the photobucket album: smg.photobucket.com/albums/v521/mrtc4w/Detroit%20AutoRama%201972/Marty Marysville, OH
