Hot on Ira's 1/8th heels is my Big Drag buildup I've been wanting to own forever. I don't have the cash to buy a mint unbuilt so I'll be (trying to) whip up my own BD... To me, all 4 Big's are show rods (there's even a Big T in the gallery) but they aren't in the 275 The Big Drag is more show than go Here's the page: canneysgarage.canney.net/lsm/bdt_buildup/Here's a sneak peek

Paul, Keep up the nice work.
Scratch building parts is a nice creative process.
Keep on your "Mission".
With all these 1/8th scale projects on this board I'm going to have to keep my eyes open at flea markets for these.

The Big Drag is lookin' good Paul! The originals are just too pricey for me as well...I mean, way out of my budget that I have to work with. Even the Big drag builts are way out of my price range... www.ebay.com/itm/270851350516?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649[/quote]

me too Don. Thats where my head is at lately. I've been watching that auction. It's got a Big Rod gas tank on the back which to me kills what that seller is asking for it.

The nostalgia look is cool on all the original Mongram Big kits, however I like the later Street T Rod version a lot as well. Nice upgrades here and there and it has the right look with the wire fronts and fat rear tires. Would be better with that blower setup from the Big Drag or the 6 carbs replacing that run of the mill carb.

yeah the more I dig into these Monogram 1/8ths the more I see the subtle things here and there. Like the difference in the interior bucket indents for what appears to be 3 different top backs
and the hair pin radius arms and coil overs in the rear
kudos to revell / monogram for keeping enough changes happening over 50 years of life from the timeless bucket
thanks

Been gathering parts for a couple years now to do a clone myself, and a 1/24 version too!!! I also let Revell/Monogram know how cool this kit would be REISSUED several times a year on their website.
Yours will be awesome Paul!!! You have my attention on this one.
