I typically have 3 bottles going in different parts of the house Testor liquid plastic cement (spend the extra buck for the one with the metal tube applicator) I avoid super glue because the vapors eat chrome away over shelf life time

Get a tube of Testors Red Label, Testors Liquid Glue, Elmers White Glue, and some Zap-A-Gap Green Label.
[glow=red,2,300]That should hold it together![/glow]
I use all of these when I build. See some of the Showrods in Progress posts to see where each type is used...Happy Modeling!

When I got back into modeling, I started using Plastruct Bondene, Weld-on 16 for gap filling, and Dollar Store superglue, both the gel and the thin stuff.
I still use all but the Bondene. I've switched over to MEK, it takes longer to set, but is way cheaper and available at the local Ace hardware which is a lot closer than the hobby shop.
I do know MEK is very hazardous, but if it's more-so than other liquid cements, I couldn't say.

Isn't MEK - methel-ethel-keytone? If so it's very combustible and dangerous. Be very careful. I think it's more dangerous than lacquer thinner
