[glow=red,2,300]GOT IT COVERED!!![/glow] The cardboard template, for the Cockpit Cover, worked Great! I transfered the shape to sheet plastic & cut it out. Then I bent the sides down to fit with Needle Nose Pliers. After a little Fitting & Cutting the shape was very close... I also added little strips of plastic around the inside edges of the body, to increase the gluing surface for the Cockpit Cover.

[glow=red,2,300]CREATING An ILLUSION For DON!!![/glow] Next I cut a piece of sheet plastic just large enough to cover the 1/8" strips of plasic, and glued it in place. Here is the Cockpit Cover set in place! The "Sunken" Platform will be painted Flat Black, which will give the Illusion of Depth for the Interior...

Hi folks, just did the Ferd, and now am working on another project... Probably Baja Humbug... this one is in mantles and Im gonna spend some time disassembling this brittle model.. Sighh wish me luck b Have you tried splashing the model with water then putting it in a baggie and then in the Freeezer. Then 12 to 24 hours later, check the baggie, many of the parts should just fall off...

Sighh wish me luck b freezer treatment doesn't work on the older Deals Wheels stuff ! .. these things are like fine china... you're better off scribbing your joints wih the back side of a #11 and just taking your time .. Nitro Bum has way too much skin to paint in one color like on the box. So I'm doing this textured stuff going from purple to a redish purple towards his head with a lot of veins and flesh/wrinkles/scales etc. It will look a bit more subtle when done.

[glow=red,2,300]WOW!!![/glow] Nitro Bum is coming along very nicely! The Scales & Stuff Sample Painting on the tile is Perfect! I am building a Snake Fink, so I am watching to see what I can learn about painting Scales & Stuff. Thanks for sharing Scott!

C'naardvark gets some paint (pearl deep gold): Transparent orange fade accent color and clearcote: One or two of the other pieces have hit the pond, but I think the body just needs a polishing! Michael, your Lickity Shift character looks yummy

[glow=red,2,300]DON The SNAKE FINK Is BACK!!![/glow] Looks like Don is ready for a Test Drive! He couldn't even wait for the Cockpit Cover to be attached! I think he likes his new ride so far...but he is still a little too big. Don needs a little more trimming to lower him about 3/8" to 1/2" more into the Cockpit...
