Hi all. It's my first time on this site so forgive me if this has been asked before I have the Barris Bathtub and discovered the gold plating on the wheels hasn't covered properly,is there any paint that i can apply that will look like the rest of the plating or do i have to strip it back and redo the whole lot?

Yes the chrome is still showing, it looks like they just didn't do the gold coat properly so some parts are more chrome than gold. Under different light it looks ok so maybe i should just leave it rather than try to paint it and it not look right.

Well, you can try tamiya transparent yellow and tamiya transparent green . Mix it to the same consistency. Practice on other chrome trees to get the right shading

I shot transparent tamiya yellow over chrome on this. It works, but it may not match the rest of the kit gold/chrome

I have had great luck in the past using the clear inks that come in suncatcher kits. They're cheap, go on easy and dry smooth and the yellow replicates the kit "gold" really well.

Take the remaining gold parts and give them a couple quick dips in alcohol ... Then use the Tamiya amber clear on all parts to get your match .. I recently removed all the "gold" from an 8th scale Golden T kit using this system because I wanted chrome and not the gold... The chrome remained flawless and the gold disappeared unless than 30 seconds.. You can always take a piece of scrap spru to test...
