[glow=red,2,300]MORE FINS!!![/glow] The F14 Tomcat Jet Engines are set up to have 2 Tail Fins, I'm going add another! I started by removing the top from one of the Tomcat Fins. The Fin Tops will be used later... Then I measured to find the Center line on the rear and made a Fin Slot with a Cut Off Wheel in a Dremel Tool. Here is the Center Fin in place, after a little Sanding and Shaping... More Coming...

You're awesome, Mr. Ira! That looks (as is your usual) just like it was originally made that way; and like those parts were always made to go together!

[glow=red,2,300]SHAVE IT OFF![/glow] I used Half-Round Plastic Strip to fill the "Snap-In" Slots. Then I removed all of the Romulan Markings from the top of the Stingray and applied some Filler/Primer. Next I drilled a hole in the underside and glued a length of Plastic Tubing in place. This Tubing will make the hole for the Steel Mounting Rod. More Coming...

[glow=red,2,300]CRATER BASE FOR STINGRAY![/glow] I started with an old Lindberg Plastic Base and roughed it up with 120 Sandpaper. Then I glued a length of 1/8th inch Plastic Tubing in the hole. This Tubing will hold the 1/16 inch Steeel Rod thay holds up Stingray. Pieces of scrap plastic are used to brace up the Tubing and create a start for the Big Center Rock. More pieces of plastic are glued in place with Zap-A-Gap, Green Label. More pieces are added to create the look of a BiG Rock. Then I covered the Rock with Putty and smushed it around with a putty knife. More Coming...

[glow=red,2,300]COLORFUL CRATERS![/glow] I sprayed some Filler/Primer over the Base. Then I applied a coat of white acrylic. I started painting the Base to look like the Moon, but I couldn't get it to look right so I tried some more Earthy Colors... Another View... That's Done, Now back to Painting the Body...

[glow=red,2,300]STAR-SPANGLED COLOR!!![/glow] I sprayed the Stingray with a few coats of Testors Star Spangled Blue. The Roof, Seat, Instrument Cluster, and Side Engines were left Diamond Dust Silver. I masked off the Romulan Wings and part of the Tomcats Undersides. They will stay Silver too. Almost Finished...

[glow=red,2,300]TRIBAL FLAMES![/glow] I bought these "Tuner Tribal Flames" Decals on Ebay. Each sheet has 3 pairs of Flames, one Red, one Black and one White. I use all 3 pairs of White Flames on the Stingray. Here is one pair of Flames in place... I added one more Flame in the rear and extended another. Then I cut part of a Flame decal off and applied it in front. Next I applied another cut decal to the other side. Note the cut decal is in the "reversed" position... At this point I decided to paint the Nose, so I masked it off and sprayed it with Testors Diamond Dust. Notice that I also added a piece of decal that connects both decals... I added two more cut decals to connect the two decals on the right side. Only one has been added to the left side to show the difference. More Coming...
