Thanks! We had used this one for years: Gunze's Mr. Super Clear But then they must have changed something about the ingredients as it in some cases dissolved the paint it was sprayed on. Which was very annoying. So we switched to this one instead: It doesn't dissolve the paints but in some cases tends to leave a bunch of microscopic bubbles. Most of these bubbles vanish given enough time, some (very few) don't. This is annoying, too, but not as bad as dissolved paint as it can be remedied using an ultrafine sanding foam.

I use super clear also. Trick is two light coats. Let it dry for two weeks. Sand and shot with heavy coat......works really Nice.

I'll try to remember that.
What kinds of paints do you use?

Those bubbles are propellant trapped in the liquid layer, you can try warming the can in a warm water bath, as well as being careful not to build up too thick a wet coat. Same thing happens with Testor's wet look clear, which provides a very nice finish. Remedy all of this by airbrushing, if you decant these clears they will bubble for quite some time, makes it clear why the trapped bubbles appear. Good luck!

Your Cherry Bomb came out very nicely. I've been using Testors Lacquers for a while and am mostly happy. Just found today that my LHS has Tamiya Lacquers in stock which opens up the color range a lot. Life is good. I would try Gunze's products if they landed in front of me but do not feel deprived without them.

Thanks again!
"Old school", you made my day!!! I will surely try that warm water bath. VERY CAREFULLY.
The first time the wife and me encountered Gunze's spray varnish was at the INTERMODELLBAU in Dortmund, Germany, We needed some flat varnish and tried it - The result was this:
1) It was flatter than anything we had tried before 2) It dried immediately (as a matter of fact, you can watch it dry)
So we also got the glossy varnish, which kept us happy for several years.
And since these are relatively easy to get over here, we just stuck witz Gunze. I haven't seen TESTOR's offered here yet.
