I'm calling this done although it really isn't. I still need to spray a matte finish over the side decals ( I did some touch up on the passenger side and the sheen shows the touch up. Still needs the front crank and lic, plate. I also intend to create some tie down rope using a rope walk, who knows, maybe a couple skellies in the back? It'll be some time before I return to it, other builds calling me to finish them. This is about "box stock" as I am able to build, not too far from it. I only added the Whiskey Bent decals, "Ben" the driver, and opened up the intakes. Fun build, got me out of a slump. I love painting wood. Thanks for looking!

I like it! All of the detail painting looks great and the whiskey motif fits it well. It's got me fired up to finish mine. The beer wagon just has a great stance.

Thanks Al. The skeleton I got in a pack of 6 (? i think) on e-bay. They are kinda rubbery, kind of poorly made. Halloween decorations possibly. He was almost in the CC Skeleton stance, but with both arms down. The legs cross and in the process of cutting and re positioning his limbs, I had to replace a shin bone with styrene. I had a heck of a time finding something to glue him back together, nothing wanted to stick. Epoxy, covered with CA did the job well enough to get a ton of primer on him. I believe that's what's really holding him together! For me he(Ben)(you know, "Whiskey Bent") makes the whole model twice as enjoyable!

Great looking build, the wood is outstanding, I seriously thought the deck was scratchbuilt out real wood at first glance.

I like the idea of a skeleton with this, heck, i'd put skeletons with ALL my Monograms if I could ............... -AL

Thanks guys! The wood is so easy! Start with a craft paint of tan, flesh or even pink. Follow that with oil paint on top, leaving brush strokes. I use a splayed out fan brush. It's that simple. I'll take a couple close ups of the wood parts for you. And when I get to it, perhaps a mini-tute next time I get down with the wood.

Having done my own version of this "Beer Wagon", it is fun to see other examples. Must comment on the wood-graining, very convincing and I understand your technique. Looks like your driver has been burping dust a long time. Cheers Eh!
