X3! That's really cool.
I've got one in paint, and another almost there.... making progress. The hard part is staying on them and not starting other stuff. LOL. I just picked up a VW Beetle kit I want to mess with but I stuffed it in the closet so I won't tinker until I'm finished.

OK, that's done it. You've lured me back in. I'll start searching for parts tonight. Some neat builds here, and it's getting my creative Ideas going.
Been to long since I built anything. Time to go for it!

I tell you something... ... to build this model boxstock, is really a challenge for me... When applying the decals, I was about three times on the verge to throw it against the wall... Really, I rarely had so much trouble to solve these decals from the backing sheet and even attach it to the model in one piece... No idea what it is, bad glue, old Age... ... the flames, for example, broke into five pieces... ... they are just bad... ... and one more Thing... ... who in the world makes decals, with black lettering (Hooker), to install it on a black car? Only stupid... Well, this is the result, and in the photo it looks damn good... ... but in real, I'm not satisfied at all, let's see if it gets better after the clear coat...

Only stupid... Looks good to me. Maybe re-clearing the decals would've helped. I'm not going to pretend I know much about decals, but from what I understand they used lacquer to clear them. Lacquer gets very brittle with age. I remember seeing many 1:1 flake jobs from the 60's and 70's with the clear cracking. An old trick to fix this was to re-clear the job with an over thinned clear. This would "melt" the old clear and help it flow together again. As for the Hooker decals, maybe it was a licensing thing. When a model company buys the rights to use a decal, is it per kit or can they use it on many kits?

Wonderful work, Bob... ... where did you get these great Shocks Are these tires, plastic, or rubber? Thanks again Bobby ! I made the shocks with some scraps of styrene tubing and springs from ballpoint pens . The rear wheels and tires are from the L'il Coffin with a little work done on the tires and the fronts I found after searching thru boxes and boxes of parts . I was surprised to find 2 wheels that actually matched the rears ! And I think your Cop Out is looking great ! I can't remember the last time I built a kit right out of the box !

Progress is slow, to be honest it will be a miracle if I finish on time. I did manage to start on the steering box and the fuel cell.
