ANOTHER EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT, KLOWNS!
Thanks SO MUCH to Jerry G for arranging this - what a cool deal! Jerry contacted the one and only Darryl Starbird and he kindly agreed to help judge our contest so we can run a 'Starbird's Pick' type deal. SERIOUSLY cool bragging rights, right there huh? Not only that, but the winner of Starbird's Pick will get a certificate with their name and the name of the model on - which Darryl will autograph personally and then ship on to the lucky winner! How cool is THAT! Thanks so much to Jerry - and of course Darryl for agreeing to help us out. AMAZING! This community is THE BEST! All you lurkers - get signed up! This is gonna be a BLAST! Registration open until Sept. 14th.

Oh sorry, yeah - I was going to start accepting entries on the 1st, ready to start building on the 14th...but people entered early (which is GREAT!). Brandon's advice was to start it from September so if people are on summer vacations, or dont visit the board much in summer then we'll get some more entrants - which is hopefully what happens!
Nearly there guys...in the mean time, message your building friends on this site, and any others you visit and see if we can get them to build a showrod too. Lets show everyone what a good time this place is!

Apparently there's a Facebook board (or group, not sure what they call them...) for model showrods. I don't use Facebook, but if anyone has an account and is a member of that group and wanted to see if they'll mention the contest on their page that would be SUPER helpful!

just got word from ZZZLAD about whats going on and would like to
give a try might try to maybe get in touch with some of the older guys

Welcome back Hacksawjoe. Well, I am one of the older guys too, and I remember I got the name Chickencoop... Unfortunately things did not turn out so well. I started the project, but something put a stop to the build. I cant exactly remember what happened, but the model-in-progress got smashed somehow... Along the way, moving out some 3 or 4 times since then, I lost some stuff, and unfortunately I dont have the decals anymore. So that original Name Game Contest did not turn out so well, but this one is going to... I am SO ready for this... Bring it on... |

Change of plan for ZZZLAD - I gave one name back, kept one & intend to use a name of my own; if I have enough time to submit 2 builds. I'm not going with that Revell 37 Ford Panel kit I showed; instead - this will be based on the TD/Monogram Pie Wagon Kit........ for both entries  |
