Okay, I`ll start with probably the one of my show rods, I`m most proud of. My original and renovated Tijuana Taxi. It was bought before the repop came out, so it was NOT cheap, all though it was a complete mess. LOTS of glue, LOTS of paint in certain places, LOTS of broken parts, and some missing parts as well. But if you are not rich, this is the kind of Tijuana Taxi you could affort on Ebay beforre the repop - and then again, not all could even affort that... The first pic is how it looked on Ebay in the sales add.... Biggest challenge was the missing torpedo plate, so I had to scratchbuild one. Rear shocks are scratchbuilt, lots of struts and rods are scratchbuilt, as well as the mexican themed gear knob.... Well, enough talk, here it is....

Ohhh, nice builds Kim! The restoration on that TT is BRILLIANT! You'd never know it was the same kit! I have one in a similar state of disrepair to rebuild someday - but you knocked it out of the park on that. I love the sombrero shift knob too! Too cool man! And the Monkee GTO is WAY too! What a great idea! Amazing! It looks JUST RIGHT! I like the headers, especially! Edit: I just saw that you posted the Depth Charger too! My mother in law got me one of those for my birthday this year - the new issue. Interesting to know the differences! Sucks when you buy an original for a load of $$$s though and it gets reissued right after

Sucks when you buy an original for a load of $$$s though and it gets reissued right after Oh yes, dont I know that... I bought the Tijuana Taxi, the Depth Charger, the Royal Rail, and the Bugaboo... All from Ebay, all as built up wrecks, all very expensive, and of course all before they were repopped.... Man... Do I feel played... But thank you so much for the kind words on my models, my friend

I also purchased and restored a similar condition Taxi , as well as a Dragon Wagon, Street Fighter, Rommel's Rod ,Glitterbug , Gomad Nomad , plus more, all in beat up condition, because they were "never" to be reissued -and then they were ! I felt played as well , until someone from this site said I should feel good about bringing an original back from the dead...You should be very proud of your restorations !!

The Big KahunaI based this build on a Depth charger. I used 2 DC helmets to make the tiki head. It took a lot of work to close/alther the openings, in the DC helmets. After I cut the new eyes and altered the side holes into door openings, I made the lips and eyebrows out of Evergreen half-round strip. I engraved the teeth, and made the top out of Evergreen sheet, edged by Evergreen half-round. The nose is made of FIMO clay or putty. I dont know if its a danish thing, but it is a form of putty you can form, and then you bake it in the oven to make it hard. The Tiki head (and the headlights) were then covered in putty, which I contured to make it look a bit like wood. Since the Depth Charger has the rear Corvair engine, it took some work to convert it into a rear wheel driven, front engine car. I used the rear axle from a Boot Hill Express, and a rear leaf spring assambly from my parts box. The engine is the tripple blown engine from the Creepy T show rod. The front grille (its there, behind the big head lights ) is from a Switchers T rod. Steering wheel from a Barris T bucket, and finally bits and pieces from the parts box. The wheels and tires are of course, from the Depth Charger. Rear shocks and rear light are coming

Little Italy Okay. I started with a frame that I believe to be a Chevy frame. It was quite big, and I had it in my parts box for years and years. I modified it a lot. Then I used the front axle and front wheels from a Horn Toad. Since the rear axle from the Horn Toad is off-center, I used the rear axle from my parts box. The rear wheels are also from the Horn Toad. The engine is the straight six from Monograms `53 Chevy, I used the kit provided custom carb setup, and the exhaust are a heavily modified exhaust from the Horn Toad. The grille is from my parts box, and its been there for many years. I dont know from which kit it came, it was quite big. (Dusenberg?) Anyway, I cut it down a lot, to make it fit better. Then the body... I had this Gunxe Sangyo Fiat 500 lying around. I knew I was`nt going to built it anyway, so why not cut it up. So I did.... I used the front of the Fiat for the torpedo, and scrathbuilt a C cab body, from Evergreen plastic sheet. On the back of the C cab body, I put the rear end of the Fiat, and molded it in... The headlights, front ornament, blinkers and cut-down front bumper, are from the Fiat, as are the rear lights, rear license plate light, and rear bumper. The steering wheel, the gear shifter, and the seats are also from the Fiat. To sparkle a little Little Italy feeling on tha car, I added a Fedore hat and a Tommygun to the interior. Of course the paint reflects on the Italian theme, with the green frame, white engine, and red body. The decals is made by Pegleg (Hotwheels Bob) Thank you my friend Also a big thank you to Brandon, for the Horn Toad parts

Here is the MPC Street Beast `26 C cab. I allways liked and wanted this kit, and I was lucky enought to find it on Ebay, at a very reasonable price. I built it allmost box stock. I changed the rear tyres, and I used some modified decals, making it a coffee delivery truck. A VERY important utility vehicle Paint is as usual Motip automotive spray bombs. I have to admit that I was not impressed with the fitting of this model, its not very good quality. But I like it anyway
