VW Single Cab Pick-Up.

Having spent a while with my previous resin bodied DoKa, I thought I'd build up the Hasegawa kit that I'd copied so many bits from. Firstly my inspiration was the SantaCruz Cycles Truck.


So this is mine with shaved door handles, and a few additions, rusty-ish truck floor, sun visor, scratchbuilt wipers/exhaust pipes,truck style rear view mirrors, and borrowed the bikes from the DoKa. Plus home brewed decals.

That's cool Pat! You really put these things together fast! The truck mirrors are cool! Does the real one not have doors at all? Interesting!

The factory built this VW but the Santa Cruz staff did a photoshop on it to see whether it would look good with a roof chop and left the picture at that. This is the real van...

Thanks 3dscaleparts, yes we as a family are great fans too of various VW vehicles. We had five beetles in including a '59 cabrio imported from California. But our youngest son bought it in bits and we didn't have the funds to finish it so sold it on! I also worked on a VW based kit car project in the '70's with the factory owner (MBC Eurooco) alongside building my own ford based estate car for our two sons BMX racing.

I've been a VW fan since my parents owned a couple back in the day.  My first car was a VW bug back in the 80's and it was the one they bought new in 73.  I learned how to work on cars because of the Bug was pretty easy to learn and understand.  Fast forward to recent times I daily drive this 62 convertible and it makes me happy every day I get in it.

Nice bug, 3D... very nice.

I'm also a VW head.. though none of my current ones are that nice.
I have two beetles and a rail buggy... all projects in various states of completion, but I grew up in VWs and have had a ton of them. Nice job on the model, Pat!

Cheers Brandon, yes we've had five Beetles including a Cal Look (youngest son) and he imported a '59 cabrio from California in bits and didn't have the cash to finish off and sold it on.
