This is the second Moebius Models kit based on the monster art of Von Franco, a self-taught American artist associated with the Lowbrow art movement and Kustom Kulture. Von Franco's skill at drawing hot rod and monster art follows in the art style of Ed "Big Daddy" Roth and Von Dutch. The inspiration for this kit is Von Franco's caricature monster painting Stoned Hoods & Crooks. The kit includes an instruction sheet, a waterslide decal sheet, and 42 parts presented on five trees plus the car body molded in gray plastic, although the box top painting features lots of chrome parts, the corresponding plastic parts are not chrome-plated, unfortunately... The details in the kit nicely replicate the box art right down to the irons on the wrists of the driver/creature. When finished, the model rests on its rear wheels and the exhaust flames to replicate the image of the car leaping off the start line. You'll probably spend more time painting this model than building it, as you can have some serious fun and try out your creature painting and flame shades. Here is my ready painted body: And the driver who comes next, pre-primed:

Thank you very much! Have slightly modified the gear lever: Here the underbody: I experimented with painting the flames, but nothing is right yet: … too shiny... … hmmm... … too bright again... Still has to find the right grading of shades…

I experimented again with painting the flames, but still has to find the right grading of shades… The original rear tires are ok, but they are not wide enough for my taste... ... so I thought about how I could make them wider, and I came to the following solution: First, I glued five, each 5mm thick PS plates together and then the package to the rear Wheel.. After that, I sanded the whole, on the contours of the rear Wheel... … and colored it in semi gloss black... … tested the Fitting... .. and here is a little taste, how it will be then …

Bobby, those big meats will definitely add some oomph to this build! But, how will that little differential possibly handle them?

Speaking of engine, if we exaggerate then powerful... A big thank you goes to Steve (rocketeer), he gave me a great idea with his build, which I would like to copy here. These are tips of pens... ... they fit very well here... ... the whole Thing...

Thank`s! Well, I do not remember how, but I was convinced that the driver fit into the car when everything was not painted... Right arm through the window, yes it was a fumble, but it went through somehow... Now I have tried everything, and no, no chance, without breaking anything it does not fit anymore! So, there is no other choice, the hand has to be cut off: When I'm at it, I'll replace his little arm chain with a proper chain... Now I can thread it into the car and glue the hand later...

I ended up cutting my driver's hand off, too.

I ended up cutting my driver's hand off, too. Uh, then that would have to be a very important part of the assembly instructions!
