It’s been awhile since I‘ve been on. I will come up with a name for this. I’ve been working on this speed boat. Of course it’s a bubbletop! I took a ’58 Tbird rear end and the body part that circled the interior of the Futura added a modified corvette hood and scratch built wings. I’m not trying to make any version of a Batboat just my own sleek speed boat. I am in the process of designing the interior. I may cut out the middle section of the dual bubbles so it is open. This weekend I will be gluing on the wings. Then on to the huge amount of puttying. Thanks for looking and I hope you like it so far.

I know jack squat about boats, but this is RIGHTEOUS!
I love the lines, the bubble top, everything!! It just needs a showrod name!

Wicked Cool!!! Front looks like Roths Wishbone style but way better proportions. The Bird Boat is going to be slick. Post more progress pics as you go. Paul

For whatever reason, I can't see your pictures using either Safari or Firefox. Could you just post a link to your Flickr album?

I would leave the bubble top the way it is - I think if you cut them, it may look more like a Batboat . It really looks great the way it is IMHO

Hey Dave, my friend, where have you been, I missed you here! Your own sleek speed boat looks fantastic so far! And when I look at it, it is really a very convincing version of a Batboat, in my opinion!

Thanks for all your comments.
Bobby -I am not a big Batman fan (unless Catwoman is in the scene). I knew people were going to associate this with the Batboat but that wasn't my intent. I love boats, fins and bubbletops, so this is how I decided to blend them. The Batboat has only one center fin and no forked front. Hopefully when I finish the trailer and tow vehicle there may be different opinions. I am thinking of tinting the top of the bubble.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to tint clear plastic?
I've been looking at wooden boats from the 1930's and I may try building on of them at some point.
I still can't come up with a name.

Regarding tinting the clear plastic, Tamiya clear paint is my favorite by far, provided it’s a color they do...although they mix just fine too so you can mix something up within reason. What color did you have in mind?

I have painted it a pearl green over silver and black. I'm just going to show a sneak peak of it for now until I finish it. Thanks for looking.
