Just finished this one , my last of the year . Built using the body and interior from a MPC kit and the engine/chassis from the AMT '71 Charger . Other parts include side mirrors from a Revell '71 Hemi Cuda , tires from a AMT '68 Camaro , wheels from Fireball Modelworks , rear spoiler from the '71 Charger , Detail Master hood pins , and a Roadrunner grille insert from Greg Wann . Paint is Testors Inca Gold with various decals from MPC , Keith Marks , and my own air cleaner and license plate decals . It's cleared with Tamiya TS-13 . Lot's of extra detailing on this one , which I don't do much anymore because it can be frustrating working with all those little pieces but it was worth it in the end . . . now I can relax for a few weeks . These are the two kits I used . And this was my inspiration . More pics , hope y'all like it !

I had to see that the pinch welds were in only the 1 to 1 photo to see which was real. Beautiful work and awesome details. Paul

Fantastic detailing Bob. Great build subject too. Can't go wrong with a Road Runner.

Huge thumbs up, my friend. Thanks very much Jim ! I don't detail builds like this very much any more , not as steady as I used to be .

Words cannot describe what a great job you are doing on your builds, brother Bob, here is another proof, a lovely masterpiece! Hats off! How do you do that with the open hood? The hinges are only inserted when needed, but how does the hood hold on? Well, I still have something small to complain about... ... but it only affects my personal taste and has absolutely nothing to do with your ability... ... this little useless black rear spoiler... ... I would never plant it anywhere, sorry...

It was an American thing probably started by the Boss Mustangs and those of us that grew up with'em like'em ! It did get worse , after the spoilers they started adding all kinds of wild graphics . As for my hood . . . it's magic ! Actually I glue tiny magnets to the hinges and a strip of .008" metal to the hood , works great !

I can understand your opinion on the rear spoiler , it probably does have no practical use at all . I had the same spoiler in my Charger and believe it or not there was a practical use for it. The pizza box and the beer cans would not slide off the deck lid when we were at the drive in or the sub races. Paul

Fortunately, tastes are different... In my design and illustration training about 25 years ago, one of my professors said the following on this subject: The term "to spoil" means in English: To disturb, tarnish, or damage something.
If you haven't from the beginning managed to make the car look good as a whole from a design point of view, it will later be spoiled by others.
Better or worse, it's all a question of taste... I can understand your opinion on the rear spoiler , it probably does have no practical use at all . I had the same spoiler in my Charger and believe it or not there was a practical use for it. The pizza box and the beer cans would not slide off the deck lid when we were at the drive in or the sub races. Paul Like that, Paul?
