Had to do another "mock-up" ...and now, HERE COMES THE REAL HARDCORE!!!! Let's do some serious plastic surgery to the bone stock Monogram 1960's styrene body! 3/16" was cut out and thrown in the trash-bin!

I really like where you're headed with this one . The fact that you're starting with what some consider a "Grail" makes it even better to me . . . love it !!

Had to split the rear part of the body to make it work out with the sectioned sidepanels. The front half of the new, scratchbuilt frame was a tad to wide. So I narrowed it and now I'll have to make 2 notches in the lower lip of the front "valance" as the frame is supposed to be shown up front where I'll make a gooseneck attachment for the front axle.

The front spring turned out great and the blower/scoop from the Roarin' Rail is perfect for this !

OK, back in business with the Trophy Hunter (after doing the 1963 Chevy II wagon christmas special). I decided to do some more body surgery lifting and widening the roof!!!! Almost 1 full inch higher to make room for the white haired, bearded driver.....

Yes... I know... It'll look like some farmers tractor, but, still.... This is what I had in mind when I started the build and I intend to follow my first thoughts! I have made the finnes drums for the rear wheels and painted them the same colour as the car. I've also put some chrome on the front wheels: And I found some chromed headlights instead of my scratchbuilt items, seen in this mockup pic:
