Great story on the BHE ! I agree with the writer of the article too ; many show rods just went to far - the ZZR comes to mind, among others

Boot Hill is a important part of my childhood. Dad was Valvoline Racing Rep 1060 to 1970. I was the oldest kid so he would take me to events where I could help out. In 1967 Valvoline and Dad were set up at one of the biggest car shows in Los Angles. (venue was is gone but was across from the giant General Tire that is a mall now) I gave out the freebies during the show, pens, tire gauge etc. At show close when the displays were being taken down I went down to the Boot Hill display for one more look. All week I had hung around the display, yet to get the model but looking in case I could get one. A person with BH asked if I wanted to check it out.....I did! He allowed me to climb up into the passenger side while they slowly rolled the car out the front door. This was only 15 feet maybe.....but to be honest I was scared!!! I can't imagine sitting in that seat while the car was running!!!! I hopped down and went back to our display. But Boot Hill Express became my all time favorite.

WOW! - you were lucky to have lived a lot of kid's dreams. Great story!
