... as in "shaking me up" a few times, but nothing super-major, sometimes it seems more like a reflection of me than the kit itself!
The engine scoops I straightened out (otherwise, they'd be at an angle) by moving the manifold over a bit on the block (which meant cutting the guiding pins on the engine block), and filing down part of the top of the carbs on both sides so I could slide over the scoops a tiny bit.
The wires slide on the distributor real easy, which I thought was nice -- then I found out they slide off just as easy! So next I'll be gluing the wires to the distributor (the wires are on pretty tight with the spark plugs -- I was pleasantly surprised that I managed to slide the wires on -- after filing down a little on the plug points -- without breaking off one of the plugs from the glued spot on the block).
The decals for this kit are another matter. I had put them on, but each one was a hassle ... but the last decal was the worst, and finally I just had enough and ripped it off. The decals I got were on very thin film ... and incredibly sticky too. They would easily fold over on the edge and good luck getting them unstuck.
Plans are now is to paint the body in several tones ... I just repainted the basic blue coat today, and more colors to follow.
I just put the assemblies together to get a rough idea on how it will look, and what its size will be (the front fork; the engine / frame; the body). This is a pretty decent-sized model! For the most part, it hasn't been too bad ... it doesn't have a huge amount of parts to it. Most paint is Tamiya (Brilliant Blue for the body and frame, BTW), and some Alclad -- chrome for the cooling pipes along with the scoops (I stripped the plating off the scoops to smooth out the seems on the sides and inside the intake area).
Maybe next weekend I'll have it finished! I've got so many other unfinished projects, why I just grabbed this one off the shelf and started on it, I don't know!
