Since the decals on this thing were a bust, I went with doing a paint job only on the body. The base coat was Tamiya Brilliant Blue out of the rattlecan, then some Tamiya Racing Blue (out of the rattlecan, into the airbrush) and Boyds Blue Black Pearl (ditto). The dust on the body comes free of charge (note: must clean body before taking pictures! ) The wood grain painting didn't come out too bad ... the ends of the tank look like cork!! Didn't go for that look intentionally, but I liked it anyway and thought it looked pretty cool. The dashboard has more of a traditional wood panel look. Both were done by first painting the parts Testors Model Masters Wood (acrylic), then used a wash with Tamiya Flat Yellow (with a dab of Tamiya Red Brown), followed by dry brushing Tamiya Red Brown. I used some small pieces of BMF for where I cut the tank halves from the sprue. All that's left now is to Alclad the wheelie wheels ... I stripped the paint off them because the seam lines were really bad, so I could smooth them down. After those two parts are done, its just a matter of gluing them on to the rear axle, gluing the body on, attaching the forks & handlebars and then gluing on the headlights for last. And that's it! (since its so simple, it'll probably end up taking 2 days to do! ha!)
