I've been battling paint woes among other things, but finally a bit of progress on stage 1 of this beast. It weighs about 2 pounds...I'm thankful to have Joe's resin tires, because if they were the real rubber ones, it would weigh twice as much!!
Lil' Gasser modified chassis and suspension parts. I wanted some girder-like components, so it worked out well with some mods.
I drilled out my axle holes on the drill press, and it went pretty easy. I did small guide holes to center it. Very important! The CNC helped by leaving a small dimple dead center too!
The back section will pivot on top of the platform on the back of the Gasser chassis.
I've got to add a bunch of the little doo-dads to this crazy motor now, and maybe a bit of lines and wiring if I can figure it out!!!
The easy parts done, now I have to start fabricating the back half of it! Four more large RC tires, and a bizarre body on the sketchpad....
