This one didn't take as long as I thought, and my idea worked out great with fairly good results. Not that it didn't jump out, and fight me a few times, but persistence paid off, along with a couple 2:00am work sessions. Without further ado....I present Stardust.

That looks absolutely amazing. Excellent detailing.. One question though..what paints did you use on the engine?

Jay, I used Krylon orange, and semi gloss black, the rest of the metal parts were done using Testors metalizers spray cans....Magnesium, Aluminum, and Stainless steel, all buffed with diaper flannel, and NOT sealed.

Most excellent work John, your modifications are the way this should have been designed in the first place. By the way, I take it the steering linkage near the rear wheel comes apart to allow the body shell removal? If you mentioned this in your build up thread, I'll have to read it again. Way Kool. ;D Gerry G

Most excellent work John, your modifications are the way this should have been designed in the first place. By the way, I take it the steering linkage near the rear wheel comes apart to allow the body shell removal? If you mentioned this in your build up thread, I'll have to read it again. Way Kool. ;D Gerry G Gerry, if you look at the circled steering box, you will notice that I added a 1/8" long piece of plastic tubing. This allows the steering shaft to slide in, and be removed. I also added a metal pin to the front, so that it can be removed from the steering arm. I also replaced the entire shaft with a piece of music wire, it just looks better. One last thing on this build....I narrowed the rear axle by 1/4", and cut the center axle mounts flush with the inner rim. This narrowed the track by 3/16" on each side, and brought the rear slicks closer to the frame
