From time to time, I've posted pictures here of figures I've painted, and a common comment seems to be that someone wishes he could paint figures. The local IPMS chapter was scraping the bottom of the barrel, looking for seminars for our last annual show, and someone asked if I would do a presentation on painting figures. Although I'm no kind of artist, just an engineer, I agreed to do one, and it went over fairly well (although every darned one of my jokes fell flat ). If any of you guys would like, I can email you the Powerpoint file of my presentation. Two three four things: One, there are many better painters out there than me; the presentation covers a technique that works for me and is fairly foolproof for me, an average knucklehead. Two, the presentation is meant to be the skeleton for a lot of talking, and so it can be a bit sketchy here and there. Three, it's 4.1 Mb, so it'd take a while to download. Four, I'd ask that you don't post it anywhere--this is just for us guys, not for the whole world; if everyone sees it, what am I going to use for a seminar next year? If you'd like a copy, PM me with your email address, and I'll send it to you.

Yes, you'd need Powerpoint, or the Mac program Keynote. But let's try this: I was able to save the presentation as a series of jpegs, and I'll try emailing those to you. Surely your computer has some way of opening jpegs.
