Since we were talking about the Gallery and thoughts of additions (There are probably not any. No harm, Al.) it got me to thinkin' of what they might be.
Disclaimer: Before I go on, I acknowledge that the Rally Showroom is CLOSED. It originally documented Dave's collection of 275 models he owned. It is what it is, and that is how it will stay. Peroid.
Now with that said....
If I were Dave I would include the following model kits:
Testors Fraken Stude- Sure it a resin curbside, but it's freakn' cool. Testors Triclops - Another curbside, but DANG a hot looking Tucker! Didn't think it was possible. Manta Ray - Only a resin body avialable. Rare as hen's teeth. Revell Dobertin J2000 - Pro Street or not, it's a show rod.
Now, If I were UberDave and could have real cars made into kits... Atomic Punk - Comes with a T-shirt. Roswel Rod - Could be part of a bubble pack combo. VooDoo Spyder- All hail Eldon Vampyre - The legacy would be complete. Defibulator - Baddest coupe ever built. Big Al - This Allison powered 34 was innovative and beastly. Sniper - Elegance and speed. Cadzilla - Sit it right next to the red 34 you have. Foose P-32- Combine a WWII fight w/ a 32 = showrod. p'd off Pete - What? Don't know this one? Check out Leno's Garage online. Have fun.
There they are. Any others? No rights/No wrongs, just favorites. Let 'em rip.

Hey Scott, I seen a car at the Street Rod Nationals in KY several years ago called something like the "Hot Tamale" It was some crazy little model T sort of thing if I remember correctly. I seen it at the Columbus Goodguys as well. It would have made a great little kit for sure. There are a lot of Roth-esque type rods being built these days that would also fit the bill for that sort of genre.
As for the showroom. Yep, that was Dave's collection. It's been talked about many times as to the missing pieces but Dave had a method to it and that was that. There are many many kits from the 60's that could fit in there with no problem but be it as it may, if anyone feels that there should be more, build a supplement page and maybe it can be linked. I've thought about it many times just to build pages for Zingers, Deal's Wheels, all the early Monogram kits that aren't included, all the small scale Hot Rods which were mostly fashioned after real hot rods of the era, and so forth. However, time just doesn't permit it for me these days. So we can all enjoy the Showroom for what it is and really enjoy the enlightenment when you see a kit that isn't there that grabs your attention like it does for me still to this day.

I'd like to also see a page that lists all of the weird issues of cars. Like the "Unreal Edsel" and those AMT kits that had the themed releases. One that comes to mind is the south-of-the-border police issue of one of the cars, know which I mean?

I Think whats on the table here is : That the "Garden" (the Coffin Corner) needs to grow a little.
IF so, I agree.

NO, NO, The show room need's to grow!!! I have been part of a few forums that started as 6-9 members, and it's cool. I love new members, don't take this wrong, but when your on a small forum, that grows, well it get's kinda crowded. Just my 2 pennies.

Dave shut down the 275 in 2001,
Before he turned the Rally over to Brandon. For whatever reasons it remains frozen in time, as Scott says "period". I like your choices Scott but if I where to add one, the first thing that comes to mind is the Grand Master by Foose. Why not have a ridler winner on your shelf..? Hizoot

I was afraid My reply would be miss-taken. I did'nt mean we needed more members RR. Rather that maybe a small interesting change somewhere here might be healthy, like the 275. Ironically, I am someone who likes to keep things just as they are. I don't know, I guess it would have to be something that everyone would unanimously like. Maybe a new interesting feature on the Coffin Corner ?? Again though, I hate when something that's tried & true gets changed. Please don't throw Tomatoes at me, It's just a thought.

Someone suggest an alternate location where a best of the rest could be established. The 275 is done, but we can still make a supplement of sorts. I think that would be a good idea.
3 sections -
Kits
Resin
1:1 dreams
Need a place, pics, and a little copy.
Zoooooooot - Grand Master and Impression would both be good candidates. Bronze - The Unreal Edsel and mexcian ford are also good candidates

My question is, .... to anyone who could answer it------ ?? If there was a good idea such as whats being discussed here, How likely is it "REALLY" .... that the administrators would change something at the Coffin Corner ??
Scott- I like your "3 sections" idea. -especially "1:1 Dreams" I think maybe it would be Kool to have a section of photo's of "real" show-rods. -Like for reference purposes.
I think maybe the big question here is : IS the "Coffin Corner" already completely "Built" .... and That's That ??
If the Coffin Corner was expanded, who would do that work ??

Hey Al,
I was thinking about the same thing. The Coffin Corner showroom is done and complete. But it would be fun to do a Members pick o sorts. It could be as easy as opening a folder on my fotki sight.
All we would need are pics and a little commentary. I was thinking for the 1:1 stuff we could even speculate on what kits could be used to scratch one out.
I have a couple of the kits I named. And I have seen pics of some of the 1:1 stuff.
I don't think it would be a hard task at all.
Scott
