I just stopped by the Corona Hobby Town and picked up my Royal Rail. WOW! I think others have raved about the packaging of this kit. Let me just add in. This is Excellent! All chrome trees are separated, extra glass, and they even used a different compound on the tires so they will remain round in shape. KUDOS to Round 2!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D Also saw the Rommel's Rod there but not enough $$ to buy both. I'll be buying another Royal Rail to use to (someday) restore a model that goes behind this guy. You truKlowns should know who he is. Flounder Hosted on Fotki

Just wondering, does anyone know if John Bogosian is still around and what he is doing. I really like his models a lot as well. Russell

I just got my Royal Rail and it's cool. I never had an oriiginal, so I can't compare but I must point out one thing.
I saw a comment about the tires being cast in a different material from the orignal to improve their strength.
While this may have been neccessary, the re-pop came out too small. The rims will not fit into the center bores of the rear tires.
The outside diameter of the rear rims are 5/8" and the holes are about 3/32 too small. I had to use a 5/8 twist drill to hog out some of the material inside the holes to allow the rims to fit. Luckily there's enough meat in the walls and the material is sturdy enough to do this. I strongly recommend a new, or very sharp, drill.
