Great job Tory! Where'd ya get those sweeeet rear tires? Thanks, the front and rear tires are from a Monogram World of Outlaws sprint car kit. The rear tires in the kit are two different sizes, so I made a rubber mold of the larger one and cast up copies for the model. I really liked the look, especially the tread pattern.

Pretty cool Meat wagon Tory, and as your usual standard of clean building!!! I like it!!! It must have good brakes too, look at those flat spotted tires.....

Very nice build there. You would make the Army boys proud. The side pipes are a nice touch. Thanks for sharing.

That's really cool. That is a really fun build.
Good idea on casting those tires. Are they heavy castings>?
Some years ago those sprint kits were selling for 4.00 each at the toy clearance centers. I bought up a bunch just for the tires and nice injected mill, but resold them. Doh!

Many thanks again for all the nice comments folks, I am very happy you all seem to like it. ;D ;D ;D
Flounder, the tire castings aren't very heavy per say, but I did cast the wheels with the tires in one piece, it was just simpler that way. So they are solid castings. If anyone needs these let me know and I can cast some more up. But it is just the rear wheels/tires.

Tory, Nice job performing the "Tom Daniel" effect on this model. I would have to give you an A + on that. It is interesting that you made the side pipes out of plastic rod as I have been thinking how I might do that myself on a different model. I was thinking of bending some hollow rod but was afraid it might not work. I can now see that it would be best to use a soild plastic rod and then hollow out the end. mike

Thanks Mike, yeah the hollow rod, which I did attempt first, would always kink. It is MUCH easier to heat and bend solid rod and then just grind out the end with a Dremel and a ball cutter.

Aside from another first class build Tory , what I really liked was the Tom Danielesque description you had a the start of the post so when can we expect the wide release of the kit version ;D ;D ;D! HEY I'm not kidding you could sell this By the way, what's the body color? Gerry G

As for a wide release, I'll wait for Revell to approach me on it! The body color is Polly Scale Olive Drab.

Tory, your models are so "surgically precise" and clean, it's amazing. You definitely have the "museum quality" touch on everything you do, and I really enjoy seeing your work.
