Triangula is an 8th scale show car powered by a Honda 750-4 Cylinder Motorcycle Engine. Triangula started with a box of old used Lindberg 12th scale "SC100" parts. The body was lengthend 2" & most of the bottom half of the SC100 was cut off on an angle & replaced with sheet plastic. The interior was rebuilt in a single person configeration with sheet plastic & an 8th scale IROC Camaro Seat. The front of the body was cut out to make room for the front wheels. The rear of the body was modified to fit the new larger rear wheels & the wider track. The bubbletop was replaced with the top from a Monogram 12th scale Ferrari Testarossa. The rear fins are from the 24th scale Monogram Predicta Show Car. Just getting started on the Triangula, comments or suggestions welcome!

Frak, you don't need any help from us! Looks great so far! ;D ;D ;D But I notice two things: One, the cutouts for the front wheels will have to be bigger if the wheels are going to steer (they are going to steer, aren't they? Nice feature to have on a big 1/8 scale rod); and two, it looks like there's a discontinuity, a kink, in the roofline right where the red meets the black. How about a Kamm-style rear end, like the Cobra Daytona had? Maybe some round taillights on a metal screen background?

Holy... that thing is huge! Judging from the cutting board it's sitting on and the metal rulers, it must be over a foot and a half long. Keep us posted. Gerry G

I am not sure if I want to go with 2 large rectangular tail lights, or 2 tear drop shaped lights or 2 large round Frenched lights. Yes the roof is rough, a roof scoop may be added later...

To play up the triangle theme, what about a rear window reminiscent of the 1934 Pierce Arrow Silver Arrow show car? It would resolve that "hump" nicely, and be another triangular accent. Love the way it's going so far.

AFTER: Made some progress with the Triangula Interior. Much of the stock interior was removed & replaced with sheet plastic. Drive to the rear wheels is done with Belt Drive and Independent Trailing Arms. The driver sits very low in the car, because there is no driveshaft. Notice that a large Access Opening has been cut out in the floor. This will allow me to install the Windshield and finish the interior after the Roof Section has been glued in place. BEFORE:

Made a little progress on the Triangula this week. The Taillight, Rear Window & License Plate Openings have all been filled with sheet plastic. Two round holes have been cut in the Rear Window area for the Deep Frenched Taillights. I cut the bottom half from the Revell 12th Scale 1957 Chevy Dashboard. This leaves the top half for the Triangula. Now it's a perfect fit and there is plenty of legroom in this 8th scale interior. Finished filling in all the sections that were cut away from the original body. Next I have to cut out an area in the top of the body, to clear the 8th scale Honda 750-4 Cylinder Motorcycle Engine. Comments or Suggestions Welcome!

That front end treatment is starting to remind me of the Voodoo Spider. I love that car! Your build is coming along great! Watching with interest!

I just sliced off the bottom of the Camaro seat, on an angle. The seat lays back another 20 degrees and the headroom is increased by about 1/2".
Now there is plenty of room for an 8th scale driver!

I put the Honda 750 Engine together, so far straight from the box, no painting. This Entex Honda Engine is made up of Plated Parts, Aluminum Finish Parts & Black Parts. Positioned the engine & cut out the opening. Enough room was cut out to clear the 4 Header Pipes too. The Carbs & Stacks will also be exposed. Comments Welcome...
