Hey Al, what required modification were those darned chrome brackets on the crown itself. I found it easier to assemble the whole bracket first, then slip it over the central bulb at roughly 45 degrees from the final position, then turn until in place. Unfortunately however, the bottom of each spine then proved to be about a sixteenth of an inch too long and required shortening The main problem with making these adjustments was the whole assembled bracket was very fragile. Also to get proper connection between the main frame and chrome front end rail/fork required some ingenuity and patience. I guess what the problem was in fact, was a slightly too straight rail/fork (it needs an ever so slight bend right where the mounting slots connect it to the frame. The spot I'm talking about can be seen in the second photo where the fork is straight until just past the decal on the chrome side panel then bend down below the Horn Blower assembly... whew All I know is the next one will be the Tijuana Taxi. (I can almost hear it begging to be built) ;D Gerry G

Nice job Gerry and thanks for the tips. There are so many kits to build right now with all these re-issues. I can't decide which to build first! mike

I love this kit.....and the groovy box art and wording are a gas. Please tell me that they used the original wording on the box descriptions of the parts.."hear-ye trumpet intakes" or something along those lines.

Thanks for the valuable information Gerry, It's so good to know these things beforehand. I just wish my projects did'nt move so painfully slow !! I got my Royal Rail the same time I got my TJ Taxi, I worked just a little bit on the Taxi, -and that Royal Rail is just begging me to crack into it !!! ( at ) the same time I'm committed to building an original "Dusters Last Stand" !! -and then the other nine projects I've got going all at once !!! ARRRRRRG !!! Congrats on Finishing That Royal Rail Gerry !!! -Beautiful Job Mann !!! (thanx for listening to me rant !!!)

Im almost done with mine. I did the same thing with the crown chrome glue slip and twist its the best way I think. I used the purple glass as well with the white rail decal on the window. I have chrome forks to glue tomorow under the chrome was set from the forks up is all glued. Tomorow I will glue my fourth leg of the crown and set my forks. I thought it was a slap together kit. It was a challenge but worth it.

Thanks guys, just thought of one other thing Those big "Gumball" rear tires are molded in a very hard vinyl, which makes inserting the three piece wheel assembly nearly impossible. Be sure to soften the tires up in warm/hot water immediately prior to putting them together. And trust me, once you get everything together the tightness of the fit means you don't have to glue the two piece tires together at all. Gerry G

I finally painted the chrome piece's Purple and started fiting stuff together and the Crown showed it's problems.. This is all the parts sitting together.. BiLL..
